Xbox One Dim Screen Problem

Hello All,

I am finally writing this because I have become so annoyed with this new console. I purchased a brand new xbox one with the assassins creed bundle on black Friday. I play on a 2 year old emerson 1080p HDTV. There is nothing wrong with the TV. The xbox
worked "alright" until about a week ago. Now every single time I start it up the screen is dimmed almost like it looks after you have been afk for awhile and it enters a power saving mode. However when I move the controller the screen stays dimmed and will
not light up for an reason. I found a terrible/temporary solution. I have to unplug the hdmi cord from the TV, switch ports, and restart the xbox for it to light up again. I may or may not need to switch ports. I just do that every time. I believe it is
the action of unplugging and plugging it back in that resolves the issue. I did not knowingly change any settings to cause this. Any helpful tips are welcomed! It also periodically freezes during games as well as netflix goes to a straight green screen
after about 30 seconds of watching. These are not errors that I would expect from a machine that I just paid $400 dollars for. Also, would Microsoft be willing to replace the xbox or fix it since I bought it a little over a month ago? Sorry for the rant!

Screen Dims while watching Vudu/Netflix

Literally just started having this problem for the first time since owning my xbox one. Screen dims every 10 minutes.

I am having the exact same problem. The screen dims every 10min while watching Netflix. The problem seems to have just started with the update that just took place. (Xbox one)

I cannot find any setting to adjust or disable the screen-dim feature. (I also don't have a kinect)

No settings have been altered within the TV.

What is going on?

 

I also should add that during black friday shopping. I stumbled across this lone xbox one sitting where the others had been. This was probably an hour after the sale had opened. I was very shocked to find a lone xbox still sitting there. The box was
dented in on a corner as though it had been dropped. I thought that it was too good to be true but it seems that this may have had something to do with it. I just thought I should introduce you to this possible explanation to the error. Thanks everyone!

 

I doubt that it has to do with dropping it. I have this same issue and it is really, really annoying. Have to hard reset to get the dim lighting to go away. I'm guessing that you haven't been helped or found a more permanent solution?

 

I did not find a permanent solution for it. I took my TV and xbox one home from school and hooked it up. This is where the problem occurred. I would have to perform a hard restart as well and it would work. Then I brought it back to school and hooked
it up to the exact same TV and it no longer does it. I have no idea what would have changed. I have it plugged into a power strip here and it was plugged directly into a wall when the problem was occurring. So I am not longer having the issue at school
but I imagine I will when I go back home. Sorry I can't pinpoint what may have been causing it. I will be sure to post here if anything hits me.
