Microsoft is releasing a digital tv tuner(UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany) in October for users in the previously mentioned countries to experiences TV through an over the air digital terrestrial tv tuner. The prices are £24.99 in the UK and €29.99

i have a lot of UK friends who will enjoy this ... maybe not the price but the feature for sure.

 

Just read this. More awesomeness from Xbox for £24.99. I'll be picking this up for sure and retiring my old Humax box. Yes! I've made a bit of shelf space.

 

This is so perfect me. As someone who doesn't have a TV (german television is a pain in the *** (sublayer TV until at least 23:30 PM) i can now occasionally watch TV in the night simultaneously.

Just one thing, since i do not really know much about Television and the cables....can i use it in Austria, where it's actually not available in the first place? I would bet that the hardware is the same in any country, right?

Cause i could then import it from Germany or the UK.

 

hope it makes it to the states. Since MCC is forcing me to get an X1, this would allow me to cancel cable completely.

Don't count on it. These days MS refuses to even support their own software (Windows Media Center) in the U.S. and they seem to be doing everything they can to fade it out of existence. I know MS sold their shares in Comcast about 5 years ago, but I'm pretty
sure there's still some handshaking going on under the table that's going to prevent any type of decent system like this from ever happening in the U.S. I certainly hope I'm wrong, but it's really not very hard to put two and two together when you look at
what MS has done over the last few years, plus their absolute silence regarding any WMC features despite the fact that it's one of the most popular requests ever on both feedback sites they've launched. It seems more like Comcast is compensating them enough
for a non-compete.

 

^ Do know that MS just released info on DLNA support in an update soon don't you? I pretty sure that will cover anything that WMC did aswell as a Plex App also in development. You seem pretty bent out of shape in your recent posts. Why do you Borger to come

You assume way too much, especially if you're trying to associate such a word like "hate" with my feelings towards Xbox. "Disappointment" would be a *much* more proper term.

You're also assuming way too much if you think this update helps Windows Media Center users in any way. According to their post, they still do not support .WTV files, which is the format that WMC records in. I've also seen absolutely no mention of supporting
live TV for WMC users, which is a pretty big factor too.

Why do you bother (or Borger, as you put it) to comment on threads that you obviously know nothing about? Just quit while your'e behind already. To date, the Xbox One offers absolutely nothing for WMC users, which is beyond sad and pathetic considering the
fact that it's all MS controlled hardware and softare.

WMC is by no means a "dead format". MS still sells it for a premium and it works perfectly on the 360. It's just sad they won't offer WMC users an upgrade or any excuse to replace their 360's with an X1. Considering the fact that I (and many others) have
360's in multiple rooms strictly for WMC extenders, it's just bad and stupid business practice not to support it. Unless they're getting something more from another company...

 

Ok last response. Well keep your 360 then as MS isn't supporting it on the X1 just yet or never.
