  1. Xbox one Digital tuner - poor signal

Bought a digital TV tuner over the weekend.

The set up went smoothly but i am getting a poor signal causing the screen and audio to break up.

This happens randomly on most / if not all of the channel.

I have tried to pause for 5-10 minutes then view the playback but even the temporary recording picks up the interference.

When getting freeview HD directly through my television it works perfectly with none of the above issues.

Any help would be appreciated as i would not like to return it as i think its a great concept

    Marvin

    :)

    Xbox One Digital TV Tuner

purchased the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner and all I can say is its very poor. I get a lot of audio/picture skipping on several channels. Some channels are complete green. Example on Sky News Freeview (ch 132) My Signal Strength is 79
and Signal Quality is 83 on my Sony Bravia TV. I get no issues with any channels on my TV Digital Tuner, but when I switch to the Xbox One, Sky News is a pixelated mess with Audio skipping. Now my signal strength is good enough, so don’t understand why
I’m getting these issues with other channels on the Xbox One, but they are fine on my TVs Digital Tuner.

Even with the TV Booster switched off I get Signal Strength is 38 and Signal Quality is 57, and I still don’t get any Audio Skips or Pixilation.

I bought this so I could take advantage of the DVR capabilities that’s coming next Spring, but Iam really disappointed with this add-on, as far as I’m concerned its cheap rubbish. I expect better from MS. Also since getting the latest NXE it comes up Digital
TV Tuner not connected now and again even though it is?

So far this has only been the downside about my Xbox One.

I'm having the same issue. Occasional audio/video stuttering on most freeview channels. It's not unwatchable, just annoying! It may be coincidence, but the stuttering seems to reduce the longer I watch the channel.

I don't have the same problem when I watch TV through the tuner built into my television. My TV is reporting 85-95% signal strength so I wasn't expecting any signal related issues. I'm also swapping the same aerial cable between my TV and Xbox Tuner, so
I'm not introducing any new connections which may degrade the signal getting to the tuner.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

  5. I am experiencing the exact same issues, my TV picks up the signals fine, but my Xbox is stuttering as described. Some channels are worse than others. I'm going to get a signal booster to see if it makes a difference.

I'm not yet convinced if this is the signal or the decoder in the Xbox/adapter causing the issues.

Keep updated with how you guys deal with the issue.

Can you all try power cycling your consoles and see if that makes any difference at all?

    support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console

If any of you has Smartglass on a Windows or iOS tablet, could you try viewing Live TV through that? Does the interference appear there too or only on the console? I don't know why that would make a difference, but it's worth a try to see if we can eliminate
    anything.

  7. Hi, I have been having the same issue, but wrote it off to being signal problems, even though there doesn't appear anything wrong with the freeview channels on the internal freeview of the TV. I have tried a power cycle and am still experiencing the same
issue.. sometimes I will get error message that there is simply no signal on certain channels even when I have been watching them previously and obviously they are found on the search when roaming through channels..

Add myself too. Exactly the same issue, Italian freeview. Needless to say, the same channels work flawlessly through my television. The stuttering comes and go with no predictable pattern.

Same here. Minor picture/sound breakup, where the built-in TV freeview has played perfectly.

I'm under the impression this is NOT a signal issue. Let's hope the tuner has been built with an upgradeable firmware, because my instincts tell me it's there where the glitch lays.

  12. Yeah having this issue too, once you notice, it becomes very annoying.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the 50/60hz thing, though I have enabled 'allow 50hz' fix.

I am also having this issue, TV on the same cable is fine and sturdy, where as the Xbox one's broken. With a bit of playing about, and constant retuning, I have managed to get a better signal but lost the OneGuide channel listing's :/

I hope this can be updated because I would like to get it working.

Ok, other (unrelated?) issues after a few hours watching. HD channels show heavy judder on fast panning scenes. Tonight's football match was an awful experience in HD freeview; frequent judders and frame drops, though the "50 hz" fix had been selected in
both the USB input and the HDMI output to TV. Needless to say, if I plugged the same aerial cable into the television the image was superb through its internal tuner. Also, the stuttering problem on selected SD channels persists. These could be symptoms of
a poor software implementation or of a very low tuner sensitivity. Disappointed.

Getting same issue here. It doesn't really bother me, but what does bother me is my girlfriend doesn't like it and she then moans at me... Xbox one Digital tuner - poor signal :)

I'm guessing it's a software related issue. Probably how the Xbox One decodes the signal. Fingers crossed it gets a fix soon.
