Xbox one digital games

is buying xbox one digital games a waste of money? Seems as you don't have the license for them games. So is hard disc copy of a game much better?

Buy 1 xbox one with free FIFA 2015 includes as a digital game, but one xbox one with COD included as a digital game and then setup digital sharing, you also only need 1 person with gold membership. (The games have to be digital for this to work)

 

I am extraordinarily lazy. I have a Kinect so I don't buy anything except digital. I love being able to say "Xbox, go to Call of Duty Black Ops 3" and boom it's up. So for me, buying digital games are not a waste of money at all because I am never going
to take them to Gamestop or Best Buy and get bent over the table as they offer me a stupid low trade-in value.

 

Yes but if you don't have a license for that game on your xbox account Microsoft might remove the game from your xbox account and you will no longer be able to play it, that is if you bought them from a third party like ebay or another profile or redeem
code ect. So Microsoft can't take games that are disc based. It has happened to me and only my disc base games work.

 

You do have the rights to the game under your profile, the only time anything would be removed is if its not legit

 

I know your right Asinine47 but sadly Microsoft don't see like that if they can't see a license for that game on your profile they may remove it and then the game will stop working accept your disc base game, it's happened to me now they are working on the
issue of trying to get my digital games back.

 

Can you explain what happened? I buy a lot of my digital game codes from other site that aren't MS.

 

I purchased games from sellers on ebay that the sellers have the accounts with the games on it ready to download and install well Microsoft just confirmed to me that some sellers are not genuine and are violating the terms so Microsoft have removed my digital
games purchased from a third party selling site. And they have proven my point that they want more money from people. So a huge warning please don't buy digital games from a third selling source and you may loose all your digital games just like i have.
I'm just an innocent buyer that Microsoft have taken my games now I'm out of pocket of money and games.

 

And that is why I only buy digital straight from the Microsoft Store or Amazon's digital store.

 

You would be much better buying a disc copy of the game if you want to be safe, then microsoft can't take the game away from you. So becareful if microsoft can't see a licence for your purchase game they will stop you from playing it. Play Safe

 

Or buy the code from an authorised dealer. I get mine from cd keys.com.

 

How do you get game codes? Are they cheaper than the games on the xbox games store? Microsoft wants people including myself to buy games from the game store, they don't want people buying games at a cheaper price.

 

isn't this where PayPal/eBay consumer rights' protection come into play?

If they're doing something against Microsoft's ToS then presumably they're doing something wrong, selling things illegitimately...seemingly committing fraud of some kind (?), then surely you can put a claim in for some money back?

Don't know how long this has been going on for but presume you can get some back to ease the burden.

PS. You could always 'play it safe' to only buying from somewhere like the MSoft store, Amazon, Game etc. If you consider the games being too much on the Microsoft Store just wait until there's a sale.

 

Well I'm getting mixed messages from the sellers on ebay saying they are genuine sellers and Microsoft just told me the sellers are violating the terms. And the sellers say they are Microsoft certified sellers. But I am wanting compensation for the money
and games that has been taken from me. So yes your right from now on and I want everyone to do the sane and buy an actual disc copy of the game. Play safe.
