Xbox One: Destiny beta needs an update, error message.

Has anyone ran into this problem? I tried to launch the beta and it quickly read destiny beta needs an update. Then it threw back an error that read update unsuccessful. It just spiralled downhill from there throwing network errors at me. I cycled my router.
No change, same horrid error messages. I then power cycled my router and my xbox one. No change when I tried to play the beta. Any successful advice that anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

I am having a similar issue. After I downloaded the beta I wanted to play it and a message popped up "Destiny beta needs an update", it then tried to update and then another message popped up that read "update unsuccessful". Yet im connected to the internet
on my xbox one and I am able to play any of my other games or use any app. Not sure how to solve the issue though.

I remember this issue being an old bug that had been fixed with updates. Have you updated your console? If you are in the beta program this could be an error with the software and you would need to report this bug. If your not in the beta program I suggest clearing the cache which instructions can be found via bing/google.

Maybe this is just the first massive beta issue...

 

I uninstalled it and re-downloaded. wait for it to be 100% before trying to launch.

Yep, I've had this issue. Not sure I'm going to bother redownloading... as the beta might finish before it's done. Not impressed, and not had this with any other game before now.

 

I've re downloaded twice and it hasn't worked , Microsoft has bothered helping me since the first day I'm so upset with the quality of service they are giving me, I want my money back, I paid for a pre order code too

 

GO TO SETTINGS, AND THEN IP SETTINGS, GO TO YOUR ALTERNATE MAC ADRESS ANS THEN CLICK CLEAR. YOUR XBOX WILL RESTART AMD THEN TRY GOING TO THE BETA NOW!!! IT WORKS !!!!!! THANK GOD

Hmmm... Interesting. I'm currently trying to get a third attempt at downloading the beta to work, so maybe Ill wait until that finishes before trying this.

 

Has the install process been starting over for anyone else when they have tried fixing this error?

I had the beta 100% installed on my boyfriend's console, but it had the update error when I tried to start it. Then I power cycled it, and then it said the install was only at 25% again. After I messed with the internet connection a few times, the install
jumped back up to 65%. I waited for it to finish installing and tried it again and got the stupid update error. So I tried the clearing the alternate MAC address thing RUNtheTRAPhouse suggested, and now it is back to 4% installed.

This Beta has had no issue on my console, but my boyfriend's console can't start it. We haven't ever had any issues with his console before.

This may or may not be causing the problems

 

We connected to a Comcast internet modem and it installed quick and are able to play the beta with no update error. We were connected to a Dishnet modem, but I really don't know how that would have changed anything, except that maybe installing it slower
might allow errors to occur? Hope everyone can figure out a way to fix theirs. Thanks.

 

The full redownload fixed it for me. Hopefully they sort this problem before the full game releases.
