    From day one my console had not functioned correctly. The games would take ages to install only to get to 99percent and then it would corrupt. The kinect never worked properly so I thought I would give it a chance until the update arrived. Updated my
    console only for the kinect not to work at all after it. So I contact MS support who go through the usual troubleshooting steps. I reset the console to factory settings and the kinect works for an hours or two then totally freezes again. I contact shopto.net
    who I bought the console off in the first place and they advise me to send in to them for replacement.

    Guess what they don't have any Day One Edition consoles anymore and want to give me a standard console, i paid for a Day One Edition console and thats what I wanted. So now I have no Xbox One console and am stuck with nearly £1000 worth of games. I couldnt
    get the replacement from MS themselves as I dont have a credit card for them to keep to do the replacement. So now i have the option of saving up and hoping to get a Day One console off ebay or somewhere else for an extortionate amount or I jump ship after
    11 years and become a Sony player. Really do not know what to do. Emailed a few higher execs and got an email off Microsoft Executive Customer Advocacy and Exceptions Team to which I replied and have heard nothing since.



    I know i am rambling on but I have been an Xbox guy since the original xbox came out and love the exclusives. I just feel let down that the hardware problem was not resolved and now i am stuck with no console at all. Spent thousands on Xbox products
    and feel ripped off to be blunt. Really wish someone from MS would acknowledge the problem and could have personally spoken to me, Enough of my ranting.

    @Spartan.. I get irritated also, but I know things will improve as time goes on. I know that is not much comfort when its all said and done, but it will. Hang in there!!

  5. I have tried i even received an email from Microsoft Executive Customer Advocacy and Exceptions Team asking what they could do to help. The answer is nothing, I have had to send the Day One console back to @shopto.net . As there is no stock of day one
    consoles i am no longer with an Xbox One console. Spend £1000 on games and another £80 on Xbox Live Gold for me and my wife.

    I suffer with social anxiety so playing games is the only interaction other than the internet that i have with the outside world. Really hoped they would have helped me out. Looks like i save up and get a PS4, which id rather not do but they are alot cheaper.

    I can understand the frustration, but given that you have already spent £1000 on games wouldn't it make far more sense to get another Xbox One (even if it's a standard edition), than to spend even more money on a PS4 and another game collection? You already
    have the games, that cost £1000, and you already have right to get the console replaced for free. Staying with the Xbox means spending no more money, jumping ship means shelling out all over again.

    There isn't really anything special about the Day One Edition...There's an Achievement, which I assume you already unlocked, and the controller says "Day One 2013". That's it.

  7. You should of went through Microsoft support, they would of sent you out a new console and you would of kept the day one controller........

    I went to Microsoft support they were of no help. kept giving me the runaround, troubleshoot this, troubleshoot that. Nothing helped. I already have a stack of PS4 games bought for me at christmas time. This has just made me want a PS4 even more now.
    I got an email off Microsoft Executive Customer Advocacy team who asked me to reply, i did 4 days later now nothing. They offered to do the exchange where you needed a credit card to do it, I do not have one. I suffer from chronic depressing, agoraphobia,
    social and general anxiety. Like previously stating my only outlet was playing games with my online friends. Is it sad, yes but i cannot help my condition.

    The money I have spent on games etc over the years totals thousands of pounds. I have zero interest in a standard console, i paid for the special edition (granted like you say its only the pad) but I am anal like that. At the end of the day, it was hardware
    failure from an unfinished product and I am suffering because of it. I give up with Xbox now.

    If you didn't have a credit card with sufficient funds on it for a temporary "hold" so you could have an "Advance Replacement", you could have done a standard replacement where you sent MS the faulty console and then waited for MS to send you a replacement.
    That would have enabled you to keep the Day One controller.

    I have had enough of the stress caused by this and my son is upset and has now asked to get a PS4. So it is bye bye Xbox One, unless by a miracle someone actually responds to my emails (i hold zero hope of that) microsoft only care about american Xbox users
    and us in Europe get a poor deal, pay nearly twice as much for a game as our US counterparts.

    Spartan good luck with your issue and if you ultimately get a PS4. I have both systems. The PS4 is nice but is not without major problems. Head over to their forums to look at the same type issues.

    Both companies have a product that has issues and both are doing what they an to solve them. Again, I hope you get sorted out.

  12. I have had zero problems with the PS4 i borrowed off my friend to try out, the UI doesnt crash, the controller is nice and the games install alot quicker. I would rather have had an Xbox One but as MS customer support never replies to tweets or responds
    to emails i give up.

    what xbox one edition you have? (Fat,S,X,SPECIAL EDITION,All Digital)

    So being an ultimate fan of Xbox I've got the Xbox one X project scopio edition and the original day one edition Xbox one console and I love how my consoles have both survived without faults since buying either on day one release day.

    If Xbox series X gets a special edition day one in defiantly ordering that as I love keeping console history.

    What is everyones thoughts on the special day one editions or just having a normal console is enough?

    That's just the Day One edition of 12 month xbox live. It retails for $59.99.

    It does NOT come with the Day One edition of the console.
