Are there any other gamers out there, who feel completely robbed by the fact that Microsoft are now releasing a new version of the console with 4k support, making our Day One consoles etc out-dated?

I bought the console to support the next gen, thinking I would be "Future Ready", only to find out I'm going to have to buy a Scorpio to have 4k capabilities etc.

Not sure if it's just me, but just feel frustrated by it.

    :)

and select games such as Forza Motorsport 5, Deadrising 3, and Ryse for $59.96 each."

As someone who is used to playing games on the PC where my hardware is always outdated, I really don't see any issues with the Scorpio. Microsoft and third party developers will still continue to support the Xbox One, the only
difference is one version may play at a higher resolution - if you want to play your games at a higher resolution, then the Scorpio is for you.

I play a lot on PC's also, but to release a next-gen console, only to release a superior version shortly after release just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I know they will support it, but there is no way I would have spent £450GBP on a console, to find
out not only is it nearly half the price but also a superior version. No "compensation", for the one's who pre-ordered the console before release.

Just feel a bit robbed, I really should have just waited and not supported next gen straight away I guess lol.

    It's just you.

By the time Scorpio comes out you would of got 4 years of gaming from your day one console & you aren't being forced to buy one.

It's how things are nowadays, upgraded versions get released at some point.

Not sure why you would think a day one console will be outdated,it'll still play the same games as the Scorpio apart from VR stuff i suppose, you'll just get crispier graphics & at the end of the day having fancy graphics doesn't make a game good.

  7. Well you forget that MS are going to have a trade in option for your old xbox one toward's the Scorpio, so i would say that is nice, they did not have to do this, but they have, so at least that is something nice for the gamer. Xbox One - Day One Customers. :)

First I've read about this, any proof or is this just something that you've heard?

The reason I'm asking is that no console manufacturer in history has ever done their own trade in deals, trade ins with the likes of GAME or Gamestop yes, but never the manufacturer.

    @Prop84

You will have had the Xbox One for roughly four years, what were you expecting, that Microsoft wouldn't release a more powerful console?

Plus from what people are saying, the Scorpio wont really be able to do 4K gaming anyway, it simply isn't powerful enough, it will more than likely do some form of upscaling to manage it.

Also if you ever thought that the original Xbox One could really do 4K, then you must have been one of the MisterXmedia fanboys.

Only MisterXmedia truly thought the Xbox One could somehow do 4K.

Fair enough, I can understand why some people would feel robbed, but I don't think Microsoft had much choice in the matter - the Xbox One is under-powered and it's already showing it's age with games running sub-HD and at 30FPS.
Tech at the movement is moving fast thanks to VR and 4K, I don't think Microsoft could afford not to keep up.

  12. at time of release for Xbox One, 4k tvs where not in majority of gamers households making the hardware 4k compatible would not be worthwhile.

I got the Xbox One S before upgrading my TV to 4k but the difference is noticeable

With every console cycle you get an upgraded / slim version so should be expected that at some point we would get a Slim and Scoprio model

Also 8k is a thing so in another couple of years will probably have upgrade again Xbox One - Day One Customers. :)

Its one thing to announce something and a totally different thing to actually do it. How many times has something been announced, and then changed at a later date?

Originally it was announced by the head of Xbox himself that the Xbox One simply couldn't work without the Kinect, it was required at the hardware level, a year or so later and al of a sudden you didn't need it.

  14. Love my Day One Console which will now pass to my son, I'll trade in all his 360 stuff and buy the S for myself. But I really like using Kinect for voice commands so a bit *** that it's now gone. Just wonder long I will have to wait for the adaptor as
I'd rather have it now for use on the day I but the S console (this weekend) but I need it's serual number first??
