@ Doug I think people should sympathize with you a little, doesn't hurt to have a little compassion for fellow gamers. Just you won't get much of that of the fanboys.

I guess it's a bitter pill to swallow especially being your 21st birthday money and that. But you should of waited if you value money. You gave into temptation far too quickly and took the plunge far too early in next gen.

Obviously the ASDA is 1 a Easter promotion for one and 2 they most likely sitting on quite a lot of stock of Ones. Better to sell at a discount price then be stuck with huge numbers gathering dust.

I think retailers are struggling to sell the X BOne, especially ASDA which is owned by Walmart.

@Wild...... I paid $499 + tax for my X1...... I sleep well at night, I use my X1 everyday.... I'm not looking for sympathy, but then again I seem to have a grasp on reality.... consoles are a hobby.... if someone cant afford it, not my problem. It's
called a life lesson....

@ King reality as struck and he's not a happy bunny at all! At the end of the day money is money it's what makes the world go around.

But he should of waited, he didn't and paid the price. But at least he had it to play on his birthday.

My god, why do people insist on mentioning the 'birthday' aspect of my post. I am an adult, i live in a terrible student accommodation building and don't have any money to spend on luxuries. HOWEVER, like lots of people these days i was lucky enough to receive
a generous amount of money on my birthday, which i chose to use with some savings to buy an X1. The only reason i mentioned this was because it added weight to my personnel experience. If you saved up for months and bought your console, i imagine you would
feel the same. That is unless you're naively accepting that things go down in price and that your money wasn't used to subsidize the cheaper consoles that people are buying now. To put it into a simpler example for people, if you bought a car and then four
months later it had gone down in value 30% your head would explode. I know cars are vastly more expensive, but it seems an over exaggerated example was needed to get through to the blind fanboys replying. A couple of extra points. I love my Xbox one, i play
it every day, i don't regret buying it, i wasn't being hasty buying one straight away because generally products don't reduce in price so vastly that quickly and finally at no point did i ask for anything free from anyone. I can see how people may think that
but they have obviously misinterpreted me. Recognition to early adopters would have been nice sure, maybe a little treat to make people feel better would have gone down well. But at no point did i ask for any of these things, i merely wanted to vent my frustrations
and gauge other peoples responses.

The price drop is the reason I bought an xbox one, got it for £340 with titanfall. I felt it was too good to miss.

Can't say that I completely disagree with the OP. However I had so much fun with Dead Rising 3 and Forza that I can almost look past it.

Still, It would have been nice to reward the Day One owners with something.

For years Xbox did a greatest hits which the packaging looked cheaper and there was always a newer version already out. It gave me a sense of value for all my 59 dollar games. Then yes a console went for less when a newer version came out. I don't remember
any price decreases for first year of any game or console

anyone but a fool should feel ripped off. they are teaching me to wait so they can't make a fool of me.

I understand OP's complaints, and if I were struggling it would probably bother me a bit more....but after seeing the low player counts I am glad to see them drop the price. The more the merrier at this point. I'm hoping by the next COD release (6 months)
the numbers will be comparable to the 360. They aren't going to go back and give us anything, so we might as well just move forward from this point. I want to see the xbox and ps succeed. If they don't do well in this generations cycle, that could be it
for console gaming. I love my PC, but there isn't a strong sense of community compared to console imo. So continue supporting microsoft. They want your money and you want their products.

Well it is a new generation that thinks they can afford 2 dollar water and 6 dollar coffee when earning less than 90k a year. A new generation of never intending to pay back student loans. that was an embarrassing loss of equity.

Why not? I drop $1.59 a day for a bottle of water, and that adds up to $190.80 (Assuming on 30 days times 4.).

How was it 130 extra. I bought an x1 on release day and it wasn't a day one edition but it was the same price. They didn't pay any more than the rest of us. They just pre ordered earlier.
