Xbox One Day One Addition - Titanfall Bundle Price Drop

I never said that Sony did not mess up also. There sales are awful. This is not a Sony Thread.

 

Yes games on the iPhone have been patched to have better resolution and even 1080p through HDMI or Apple TV and for the most part these patches have been free or maybe 2 dollars. The arcade games are still playable from the first IPhone and yes they have
been improved.

 

Yes but the point I'm trying to make is that the hardware in the iPhones doesn't change as dramatically as that of the xbox 360 to the xbox one. Or for the sony consoles for that matter. Doing emulation of older games is not as easy as one might think. Why
do you think there aren't that many great ones on the pc for console games. The ones that are out can be quite glitchy. Do you really think people would stand for glitchy on a console? Not likely. And even with the emulators that are on the pc, not all games
work with them. They didn't screw it up as you put. It's a design decision that I can guarantee you, no one will care about within a year. Nobody cared about original xbox games after a year of the 360 being out and it will be the same with this.

 

The Xbox one first edition customers are way more valuable to Xbox than they think. I believe they upset the feelings of every one of them. Pay 130 extra just to have day one printed on a controller. funny. The controller can't be a collectable as it
gets used then replaced

I bet most day one customers are actually Jr sales for Xbox by asking friends and family to follow and or buying for same to get them on board

How was it 130 extra. I bought an x1 on release day and it wasn't a day one edition but it was the same price. They didn't pay any more than the rest of us. They just pre ordered earlier.

 

Titanfall edition was in sale for 449. 50 for console. 70 for extra controller and 60 for game. My bad. It was 180 cheaper. even at 499 including extra controller and game its 120 plus tax more. Time for a math class

 

Not as many constructive replies as i expected. 'Mad Cow', the difference between my console and the current price is £100, are you suggesting that £100 for 4 months of console use is acceptable? When you buy them to last at least 2 or 3 years of use? The
people who mentioned either their boredom at these posts or the people mentioning that i used money from my birthday i say, really? If you don't like these threads, don't click on them and especially don't waste your time telling people you don't like it because
it means nothing. I mentioned my birthday because it added context to the story, i understand not everyone gets that much for their 21st but i was lucky enough to and the fact i spent all that money was important to me, especially given the high price point
at the time. Anyone who thinks i should just accept that things go down in price are just naive and badly informed. Yes everything goes down in price, but never as drastically as the Xbox one did. The reason for my anger is that Xbox made a mistake and i am
taking a hit for it. If you believe the Xbox One was always scheduled to be lowered £100 by march you must be a fool. They made a mistake, they thought they could compete with PS and they were wrong so they did the right thing and lowered the price. Which
is a good thing, I'm not denying that and at no point did i imply that it was sine big deal that Sony has sold more consoles, i just know that is important from Microsoft's perspective. I couldn't care less. As to my 'loyalty', well i bought the console, I've
bought most games released on that console and I've owned a 360 since its launch BUT I've posted one forum thread explaining my anger at the new price.... hmmm yeah, really terrible aren't i. Major Nelson does say that the Titanfall bundle was only a promotional
price, but even without that particular bundle the console is still £100 cheaper instead £150 including the game, which to me is enough to warrant my annoyance. So there goes that argument. Finally to the guy who mentioned the fact that i got a free second
console, OF COURSE i did, mine had a factory default!! I said plain as day that iwas happy with Microsoft's handling of that issue, it was only a minor issue they didn't follow through with their proposed apology.

If anyone can find another example of a games console being lowered in price by roughly 30% in 4 months let me know.

Titanfall edition should have been the day one edition. day one customers should have received nice discount or free titanfall downloads. they would make money back on map upgrades anyways.

 

And they could throw in a free toaster as well. Anything else you feel like you deserve for nothing?

 

Duffel. i actually feel a bit proud of my purchase but wow if they did something for the first edition users it would have been greatly appreciated by all. And they are the best cheerleaders.

i don't think price cutting is the answer. It shows lack of confidence in the awesome hardware. I still cant see a profit in the hardware in an x1. The kinect to me is a 300 dollar piece of equipment compared to any other kinect type device

if anything increase the price and give some more added value is my idea

 

Why not? I drop $1.59 a day for a bottle of water, and that adds up to $190.80 (Assuming on 30 days times 4.).

Well it is a new generation that thinks they can afford 2 dollar water and 6 dollar coffee when earning less than 90k a year. A new generation of never intending to pay back student loans. that was an embarrassing loss of equity.

 

I'm in Heating and Cooling, my father taught me since 11, so no student loans here. My girlfriend "worked" as she earned her degrees and owes no student loans. Maybe "some" should've taken a different career path if a "2 dollar water and 6 dollar coffee"
puts a strain on their "less than 90k a year"? ;-) Gaming like any other "Hobby" can be expensive, one should live within their means rather than complain about others lifestyles.

D33: Why don't you just add another 50 to your next purchase so someone else can get a discount. Great idea. I never questioned your income but you are correct, some have so much money that they would be silly to even post on this forum.
