Xbox One dashboard updates via USB storage / Gamer tag on USB stick

I would really like if we had the option to update the dashboard by downloading the update from Xbox.com, like I can do on 360. I would also like the ability to download my gamer tag from my Xbox One to USB so I can take it on the go.

    :)

Can you not download the latest update via xbox.com, put it on a usb stick, update your old console that way then use the same usb stick to put your games saves from your old xbox to your new one?

    unknown error

You should be able to use a usb stick for the updates but just make sure it is configured for the xbox 360, if you insert the usb stick and go to storage (go as far right on your dashboard as you can go to system settings) then it should show the usb stick
then just click it to configure it, then you can download the update on to that.

    Thanks
