hello anyone I'm new to this whole discussion type deal and i just thought i would say something thats been on my mind for a long time , i thought i had the best set up on my xbox 360 because of my dashboard theme , it lighted up the whole screen with colors
and looked amazing but the xbox one is so bland and black that if they were to add a theme setting for the background it would be amazing anyone else agree ? and if this topic has already been discussed by a lot of other people I'm sorry don't know what y'all

Rumor: Microsoft planning Xbox 360 dashboard update in preparation for Next-Gen Xbox

The next-Xbox could use a new interface, different than the Xbox 360 dashboard. Microsoft would like to prepare its Xbox clients to the next-gen and the new Infinity dashboard with a new dashboard for Xbox 360.

This new version will go into beta stage in late June or early July, the final version should be ready in August. What changes could we expect? Smaller Live tiles, very similar to the Windows 8.1 ones. Slight changes in the dashboard look, with the possibility of lighter or darker themes.

Microsoft wants to make easier the transition between the two generations and provide players with a new interface to connect the Xbox 360 users with the Durango ones. I guess you will be able to chat, visit profiles and see achievements from Xbox users with Infinity.

Moreover, the source confirms the elimination of the Microsoft Points system for the next-gen. In summary: new dashboard for Xbox 360 to match with the new Xbox dashboard and forget the Microsoft Points system (yeah!) forever.

I have been hoping for the same thing maybe in time will have something like that. also I would love to get free games like on the 360. along with full house poker I love that game..

Same as War. I would love to see some themes come to X1. I am sure they will come at some point because it seems like one of those inevitable things but if and how soon, who knows.

When i look at Xbox one dashboard,i don't see any needs to have a theme.

Also,the way Xbox one dashboard is set,there isn't much empty space.Maybe for a stamp but not a theme.

Do you mean an xbox theme? If so, you can purchase themes with microsoft point on the xbox marketplace. A theme will change your xbox dashboard theme. It can be based on games, pictures, etc. A game you play will not change the dashboard's theme. I hope

Themes are background for your Xbox dashboard. They're not game add-ons. It's not something you play.

If you mean why are there pictures in the background of the dashboard then that is a simple fix. You can download both regular and premium (paid) themes for your dashboard. Once they are downloaded you can choose to have those as your main theme instead
of the plain green xbox one. You should be able to set your theme from the System Settings.

You go on your Xbox dashboard and go over to social. Click on you avatar and there will be things that will pop up. One of them will say change theme. Click on that and there will be a list of themes. Chose the one you want to choose.
