XBOX ONE DASHBOARD PREVIEW REMOVAL REQUEST

Please remove me from everything regarding the "Preview Dashboard" program. My Gamer Tag is the same as this post. I do not want this on my console anymore. I thought I had opted out, BUT I still receive the texts telling me to update my TOS for the Preview
Dashboard.

AGAIN, I do NOT wish to be part of the Preview Program.

What program are you talking about? If it is the preview program then you would request removal via the preview dashboard on the console

It doesn't give me that option to unregister since i'm on a new account and don't have access to the old gamertag. I've tried to enroll the new account and it tells me that console is registered to a different gamertag (my old gamertag)

 

Hi Kerplunkin! Have you gone into the Preview Dashboard and unregistered your console through that? That's actually the easiest way to do it. My guess as to why you're still receiving messages to agree to the new ToS is probably because you already had a
preview build on your system at the time you tried to Opt Out - that is, the last "official" update to come out was the November update, but Preview Members continued to receive preview-builds during November for Stability Updates. So, if you got any of those
stability updates after the initial November Build, you technically have a preview version O/S on your console.

The reason that matters is, when you enroll in the program, it mentions that if you choose to unenroll from the program, you will continue to receive preview updates related to the current preview version. As soon as you receive the next PUBLIC build, your
console will then stop receiving preview updates. (I would imagine there will be another preview build in February, which will be the 1502 build, but I can't swear to it.)

 

Preview build 1502 is available for download now.

 

So there we go - this will tell us if you actually DID successfully unenroll back when you thought you did. Plunk, I think the most likely possibility is that you will have 1502 on your system until it goes public in early February (or late January) at which
point you will stop receiving the updates. (The reason I think you'll probably get 1502 is because, if you were getting the stability updates, I would think the "system" will view those as preview builds, and continue to send them until a Public-only build
is detected on your system. I could be completely wrong about how that works, so hopefully an engineer will pop on here and correct me if so!)

To be absolutely sure, though, I would definitely recommend going back into the preview dash and trying to unregister your console again. Trying again won't hurt!

 

Sorry I did not reply sooner guys. I received another monthly message to update TOS for Preview, but it will be fine as I no longer receive the updates.

Only reason I wanted out is because I would receive updates to the console @ the times when I would be gaming.

Just ordered the Assassins Creed Bundle for my second Xbox One purchase for the same house...anyone want to show me what's up with AC Unity and Black Flag let me know. I own all of the games but these 2 I will receive on February 24th.

I want to get removed from this I never even registered for this program all I did was download it I thought it was a promotion for movie previews or upcoming console generation butwhen I first clicked the link that Microsoft sent me through message, it
said I can join the beta for something and then it took me back to download the app, after that is when it said registering for this will cause me to not vibe able to log in to my account or get errors I immediately backed out of it but I was able to play
all day yesterday and today I come home from work and find out that I wasn't able to log into my account I connected to the services without my account with no problem but when I tried logging in with my account it kept telling me that I needed t. Check my
account please take me off of this list I play online every single day and have spent too much money to not be able to play online ! Like I said I never registered for this app so why is it even messing up my account ?!?!

 

Hi Mario! I'm not sure why this would be happening if you didn't register your console - the only possibility would be if you purchased a used or refurbished console that had been registered to the program under someone else's gamertag, and then that person
didn't unregister the console before selling it or was unable to unregister it because of sending it in for repairs. In those instances, the console would continue to receive the preview updates until more in-depth action was taken.

It would be best to post a separate thread specific to your issue, but when you do, let me also ask you to go to your Menu button, choose Settings, and then go to System, and finally Console Info. This will tell you what version you are on (which should
be 1508 IF you are receiving preview updates.) If you are NOT receiving preview updates, you will be on, I believe 1507, and that would mean your problems are related to something other than the preview.
