    Xbox One dashboard in 1080P issue


    Have had my One hooked up for well over a year. One via HDMI--->Onkyo 616 receiver-->1080P Sharp HDTV. Havent played in the last few days and last night wanted to play some Battlefield 4. When I fired up the console all the tiles and icons on the dashboard
    were HUGE! So big they are cut off on the left side of the screen and you can not scroll over. I managed to blindly get to the options menu and switched it to 720P and I can see everything. Now when I started playing BF4 I noticed items in the corners on my
    HUD were cut off now as well. The TV is getting a 1080P signal from the receiver as when I fire up the Xbox it shows it in the upper right hand corner.

    All of my other game consoles and satellite receiver are having no issues and all feed through the receiver as well with one HDMI cord running from the receiver to the same input on the TV. I did the hard reset by holding down the power button on the Xbox
    One but it didn't help. I cant seem to find anything online.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Are they going to update the Xbox Dashboard to 4K resolution?

    There was no limit, they just decided that after speaking to developers that developers would prefer to have the 9GB of RAM + 1080p dashboard available to them instead of just 8GB + 4k. I don't switch my Xbox One on to stare at the dashboard... I would prefer the extra resources for the games any day.

    Well you use the xbox for games & multimedia items not just to look at the dashboard.

    Just a question but why do some people on these forums feel the need to write a childish sarcastic comment to a vailid question...They guy has upgraded hes xbox to HD and wants to know why the dashboard dosent look so sharp...Whats wrong with that?

    Dashboard is not 1080p in my opinion. I have the same problem as SuperBoof, games are ok, but dashboard not.

    Ah right, that would explain some of the shonky text. The base quality isn't overly bad, it's acceptable to a certain extent I suppose.

    Check the display resolution in the HDMI settings in the console settings menu. It doesn't always default to the best settings for some reason
