    Xbox One Custom Edition

Due to recent unfortunate events related to my Xbox One (that's posted elsewhere) I have some time on my hands. This free time gave me some time to ponder a bit on the Xbox One itself. Eventually, all of this diarrhea of the brain yielded me one question,
"What if Microsoft, or any gaming company for that matter, created a custom edition console?" That's right a console where you, the user, had the ability to pick and choose the various hardware components of your system. You could settle for the 500GB console
or grab a 2TB console. Of course, I would not limit it there. Everything from RAM to Disc drives included. So I pose the question to my fellow users: What would you put in your custom Xbox One Custom Edition?

    :)

Bundle Game Download Code Not working

I posted this in another thread but the chick Miss Diggz from official support posted this in the faq here - forums.xbox.com/.../1857490.aspx about the bundle, that it does in fact come with the day zero edition. Their own support team says its the day zero
    edition in the bundle.

Q: What is included in the Xbox One Bundle?

A: This Xbox One Console bundle features:

Custom-designed Xbox One with 1TB hard drive and sound effects

Custom Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare controller

Full game download of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition

Limited Edition exoskeleton and the Advanced Arsenal, which includes a bullet brass exoskeleton and the EM1 Quantum custom weapon plus two custom weapons: the AK-12G Assault Rifle and Crossbow-B2

  3. Regarding Day One Edition Car Pack

If you have the Day One Edition then you should have 2 "versions" of those cars. The Day-One Editions have special liveries (i.e. special Forza/Xbox paint jobs) and they are also custom tuned.

    Hello "Rat3strdm"

I love the Xbox Brand and I'm not that tech savvy when it comes to computers; but after reading your post, this is the first thing that popped into my mind...

    " Reliable Parts "

Have a nice day or afternoon or night Xbox One Custom Edition :)

Lol, That is kind of what I was talking about. What if you were given the option to choose between several types and brands of disc drives (for example). What if you had the options of a PC basically? I would pay extra for the option to choose my hardware.
"Here have and Econobox One for $300 and good luck" or "Look at this streamlined Xtrabox for $800. Not good enough for you? Well then, check out these options."

It's a cool idea, but there are not really many different options you could choose from besides different size hard drives. They would still have to keep all the systems the same so they could all play the same game regardless of your custom alterations.

In my opinion a more feasible idea would be to order tailor made bundles for a good price. 1 example would be, 1TB hard drive, 2 white controllers, a black console and x,y, or z game included.

Or, 500 GB hard drive, Kinect, 1 controller and a month of
    LIVE.

Or one that I would like which is. 1 TB hard drive, a year of gold, 1 white controller, and a 25 euro Microsoft points card.

Actually, I believe Microsoft will have to integrate such a system in order to keep up with the upcoming Steam OS. With Steam OS, you pick the hardware and game the way you want to. Oh and don't worry about the cost of Steam OS it'll be free. Of course,
they will make money off of the games you buy, but that's the big idea anyway.

I do not think they will need to. I game a lot on PC and have a Steam OS system. There are benefits to consoles for both developers and consumers. And having a console that has interchangeable parts would mean you would need to cater to the lowest possible
configuration that is/was available. That way the games would work. This would mean that people with higher systems will see little benefit if any at all.

Nothing. One of the binding principles of consoles is that they're identical from a functional perspective, from the first one that rolls off the line to the last one made. Storage capacity changing doesn't change that much, but RAM would.

If you don't like the sameness of consoles, buy a PC.

I think it's a cool idea, but I don't see it happening because of the logistics. I think they would way rather mass produce the same product.

I see the Steam Box failing miserably. The allure of consoles is "One of the binding principles of consoles is that they're identical from a functional perspective, from the first one that rolls off the line to the last one made", so "If you don't like the

  15. I think it would be nice to have aesthetic options as a standard - for example, the ability to choose the color of your console. That way, it will still function the same as every other console from the same brand, but would cater to the tastes of different
people. There's a lot of companies that make money off of customizing consoles and their accessories so I'm surprised the big companies don't do more of it. If I had to hazard a guess, I would imagine it would come down to financial reasons (cost vs. how much
would actually sell) as to why they haven't already done it. Granted, they do have "special edition" consoles every once in a while, but those are a dime a dozen and not everyone can have one - which is pretty much what gets those to sell in the first place.
Also, as much as I would like to have it, a good example of why it may not work is the faceplate on the Xbox 360 - do you guys remember those and how well they sold? The answer is "not well" by the way. Xbox One Custom Edition ;)

That's my take on it anyways...
