XBOX ONE Controllers

I hear ya Goat.

I have had only two 360 controllers for the past 5 years or more. And have never had to use the 2nd controller at all.

I attribute that controllers (Which came with my 360 Slim) longevity to my knowing how to thoroughly clean it. Which I do about once a month.

 

2 out 4 of my controllers failed on me, yet my day one is going strong. Kind of suck but products fail sometimes and it's not only Microsoft controllers that have these problems

 

I got to my 5th controller on 360, over a period of 9 years and the amount of gaming I did I think they lasted quite well.

I've had my X1 for 15 months and my 1st controller has started sticking on the left analogue stick. Definitely take on board the points people have made about food/drink etc damaging controllers. Rather than blame the controller design I think the culprit
is more likely that darned can of Carling!

garbage Controllers, i agree 100% I hope that the new steam controller that im getting in November can be adapted to this console, I remember hearing somewhere that it will be, via an update.

Everything about controllers has changed over the years, save one thing.

The 3D Analog assemblies.

Even though the shafts do come in various shapes/sizes, everything else about those assemblies is pretty much the same. Yet, to do anything different would be akin to seeking to reinvent the wheel.

So the next best thing is to simply prevent particles from getting in, and building up on the PCB boards under, and around the 3D analog assemblies in the first place.

Where's the nearest Patient Office? And how much to patient an idea?

Me too. Must mean neither of us can spell good enough to beat a 5th grade spelling B contestant.

I have owned several controllers, never once did I eat anything "unsavoury" with them while i was playing an in less than 5 months my Left stick started getting drift issues, moving up the screen on its own, I cant even use it anymore, the other issues I
had were just cheaply made, falling apart, breaking down, terribly made, cheap controllers. they arnt cheap either the cost about the same price as a game $70-$100

 

I don't eat while gaming either... having a suppressed immune system only amplifies my being a bit of a germaphobe, so the whole 'sticky controller' thing people have mentioned may just make me literally and figuratively ill. lol

I have played plenty of MCC (Halo 4 has sprint), CoD: Ghosts, BF4, Destiny and now ESO. All of which have a sprint feature. My 'Day 13' controller is still holding up pretty well. I attribute a good bit of that to a non messy gaming hands environment. Well,
that and I have fairly small hands and don't tend to slam controller sticks around much.

 

Never had a "sticky" controller, had a stick drift issue, but fixed it with some warranty voiding DIY haha, now have some funky metal sticks for my Titanfall controller.
