Xbox ONE Controllers - one out of warranty, the other MIGht be within warranty

Hi,

I have two non working Xbox ONE Controllers - what should I do?

the first is one out of warranty - And I tried creating a service order. The serial number has worn off - about five digits are unreadable. What can I do ? I am happy to share a pic and show proof.

the other controller MIGHT be within warranty - this one is half functional. I want to send the first one for repair first as I still need to use the second one.

Who can help, and what can I do ? I must say fixing Microsoft products is still way more cumbersome than other brands!

Right thumbstick dragging left

Have you ever dropped the controller face down or gotten something sticky in/on it? That may be the cause of the stickiness, but it could also be wear too. One of my controllers left thumbsticks has the same problem. I don't think it's covered under warranty
unless it's been purchased within the past 90 days.

What is the Microsoft warranty for the Xbox One Chat Headset?

The warranty for Xbox Accessories is just 90 days. The console has a 1 year warranty.

If you bought an extended warranty, as you stated, then you'd want to contact that warranty provider since they extended warranty would be handled by that company.

Most of the Xbox One controllers will have a 3.5 MM jack for any (CTIA) standard headset (that works for android phones too). You might search only for Xbox One Headset and see what options are available.

 

To add - when I tried registering my first controller for a service, the microsoft website said:

No Records Found

If you find no offers available for your out of warranty device, please visit microsoft.com/store if you would like to purchase a replacement.

Microsoft do not offer service on out of warranty controllers

You would not be able to send the first controller for service

 

so can u or can't u fix the out-of-warranty controller?

i must say, all this is just encouraging me to get a PS

Unfortunately if your controller is out of warranty then you cannot get it replaced.

Talking to microsoft support would not help either as they would simply say that you need to replace the controller yourself (i had one break 1 week out of warranty and thats what i was told).

microsoft, u sell JUNK and you don't want to own up to it.

i am moving away from Xbox.
