    Xbox one controllers not updating


    I have two controllers that won't update no matter what I do

    A month ago our almost 5 year old controller did not want to connect to the Xbox. The controller seems fine in all regards and has never had any problems before. The only thing that seemed out of order was that it needed to be updated. I tried to update it following all measures I could find online but none had worked, so I thought the controller had reached the end of its lifespan and bought a new one. But now after a month the new one has the same issues, and is more unresponsive than the old controller was.

    The problems with each controller specifically are:

    *The old controller (~5 years old):

    - Does not connect to the xbox after being turned on (just flashes)

    - Does not sink up with the console even after both have the sink button pressed simultaneously

    - When directly connected to the console via USB, an update message prompts. I can select the update button, the controller attempts to update, reaches 100% then says "Update has failed". After that the controller becomes unresponsive, non of the buttons or joysticks do anything on the xbox. Only after restarting the xbox does the controller become responsive but it prompts the same update message as before with the same results.

    *the newer controller (~1 month old):

    - Does not connect to the xbox after being turned on (just flashes)

    - The sink button does not work, after pressing it the expected fast pace flashing does not appear

    - When directly connected to the console via USB, it is completely unresponsive. The console shows no signs of being able to detect it. The controller only flashes (like it does after being switched on and is not able to find any console)

    I have tried using all solutions I could find

    - I have tried updating the controllers on the Xbox with a USB cord, with batteries and with fully charged batteries

    - I have hard reseted the console and tried to connect and update the controllers

    - I have tried updating via the Xbox Accessories App on PC but the app does not pick up the controllers

    I anyone knows what's going on with these controllers, please can you help. The xbox is useless without any controllers to navigate it.

    How do we update the controller? NO USB Cable comes with Xbox One.

    There is more sites, the Titanfall controller update was part of February Xbox one update. An the Titanfall update is done by sync your controller with the Xbox, over air, no cable needed.

    About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

    So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

    Update XBox controller support has steps to update the controller firmware.
    It did not say "Start update" or the update is available for xbox one controller.

    To ease this is a problem with the controller but there is a controller update coming to Xbox one. But first make sure you goto to settings Device & accessories and sign the controller to someone and click on update controller to the Xbox one. then accept
    the new update to fix this.
