Xbox One controllers keep turning off

Hi, my Xbox One controllers flash for 5 seconds and then turn off.

I have tried charging the batteries, changing the batteries, re-programming, re-starting but all 4 controllers still don’t stay on longer than 5 seconds. The controllers work fine if they are plugged in but that obviously isn’t substantial.

Please let me know if I’m missing anything!!

Try a different usb cable (play/charge) and do the steps in this support page, Update xbox wireless controller
. You'll need to update all controllers separately.

I'm going to buy one of the off brand recharging stations that come with the generic battery. I bet it will work better.

It is very likely that the wireless card that makes the connection between the console and the controllers is defective and needs to be replaced.

Do a favor. Press and hold the console power button until the console turns off, remove the power cord and HDMI cable. Remove the batteries from your controller for a few minutes.

After a few minutes, plug the cables into your console, put the batteries in your controller, and try powering up the console with your controller and see if it stays connected.

If the problem persists, I'm afraid the console will need to be repaired. This link contains instructions on how to send the console to Microsoft.

Never had this kind of problem! After the September update often started disconnecting my control!
