Xbox one controllers - cheap keep breaking - looking for unbreakable controller - Help need ...

First I have to say I am EXTREMELY UPSET WITH YOU MICROSOFT!!!! Xbox One has been NOTHING BUT A DISAPPOINTMENT in many ways - it has been as if you sold your company to someone prior to releasing the new system... games... accessories... and marketing strategy.
- you are money hungry with low quality and heart.

With that said... (and I don't care if I upset you - I am 50 years old and have spend thousands of dollars with Microsoft over the years as I was a true consumer of your products and I feel someone should be honest with you... hopefully you will learn from
the feedback.

Now to the problem - I KEEP Having controllers break. Buying $65.00 controllers that last less than a month each. WHY!!! No don't answer that... I want to know (my questions are)

1) WHAT CONTROLLER (I DON'T CARE THE COST RIGHT NOW) WILL - NOT - BREAK?

2) IS THERE A EXTREMELY DURABLE CONTROLLER OUT THERE? OR

3) IS THERE A CONTROLLER THAT COMES WITH EXTRA PARTS WHERE THE USER CAN REPAIR THE STICKS WHEN THEY BREAK?

PLEASE HELP!!!! my husband is about to have me shell out another $65.00 for another inadequate controller.

Xbox One Controller

I recently purchased an Xbox One and it came with just the one controller. I was looking into buying another one so my girlfriend can play too but there only seems to be official controllers at £35+. Are there not any cheaper third party controllers for
Xbox One like all the old gen consoles?

Controllers have a 90day warrenty, if it breaks within that time you can get it fixed or replaced. If you break this many controllers you must ask yourself a question. Is it the manufacturing of the controller which is bad, or do I need to change my playstyle.
Looking at how many people play Xbox One and seeing how much of a small percentage come on the forums to talk about their controller breaking I believe it's your or your son's playstyle which may be breaking the thumbstick mechanism inside.

 

If the controllers are less than 90 days old they are still under warranty. Have you tried returning it to the retailer for an exchange?

They obviously should not be breaking that fast. I have been using my current controller a years and I have not had an issues with it. I really have no idea why you continue to have problems with the controllers.

No there are no quality controllers. The xb1 controller is junk much like the console. Atleast you can use your controller atm unlike the many people who have controllers not recognized or just power off. No replies from ms because they really dont care.
I suggest buying the in store warranty on your controller though.

 

@ArfElas 3512 I have been looking into the Elite controller - our controllers keep having the left stick break where it keeps the 'drifting' the curser/arrow/gun or whatever the game uses that stick for.

I was thinking that maybe with that controller I would be able to fix it myself by replacing the stick but I am not sure if the issue is in the stick itself or the mechanism that is controlling the stick.

What is your thought...

 

Well, to make the story short, I have 2 controllers for a very long time. Both have the left stick issue, I mean I have to press them hard when I try to run in the games. Lately I started using my brother's controller, and well he got his console way before
than me and the stick has been working perfectly.....that until I started using it....for some strange reason when I started using it the left stick started to fell hard to press so.. I stopped using it....in my own situation..... I believe I have strong
thumbs.... yeah let us go with that... but well bottom line.... I know some people had bad experiences on this case with controllers some times it can be an issue with the product itself, some defect when assembled and other times we can press it very hard
while playing, I am a living example of the later.

About the ELITE controller, I believe it could be a good option. That controller is basically created for Hard Core Gamers. Differently than the other controller, this one is mostly metallic, the sticks and other parts are metallic so it is made to last,
so yeah it could be a good option then...

 

I just discovered that the RB and LB buttons on the Elite controller are plastic painted to look like metal because one of mine snapped. Only time will tell is Microsoft will back up their product warranty.

 

Read all of the reviews on the elite controller if you are considering flushing $150 down the toilet. I have gone through 2 already, and they break just like regular controllers. The sticks, bumpers and triggers will break. I admit i push hard with my super
strong thumbs, it's always been a problem for me, which is why I'm not gonna buy a third elite controller. But, I did buy extra sets of buttons and triggers, etc., to repair my broken controllers, which I did but they again have the same problems as before.
I'm actually going shopping for a new controller after I finish this message. It could be because I'm too rough (I don't throw them or anything like that), but I'm not the only one. I will be getting the warranty this time, though.
