Xbox One Controller.

Since the last controller update, my controllers battery life has been so short. It only lasts about a day, two at most. I don't know if its just a problem with my controller or if it was because of the update. If anyone knows please answer.

If you mean the duke controller, you can't use the original controller. You would need to buy the newer version for the Xbox one which is this

I have to admit that my official xbox battery pack completely died after the recent update, I have no idea if it was a coincidence or not, but it doesn't surprise me as my 360 battery pack did the same thing. I just moved back to my 3rd party rechargeable
and works as normal again.

You're lucky that it lasts a day, mine will last 2 hours after a full night of recharging.

 

Me and my son now use rechargeable energizers, think we get 20+ hours out of them.

 

Me too Goatsnatcher! They're awesome. In NZ, a pack of 4AA Energizer batteries can cost $8.99 from supermarkets and retailers. I also have an Energizer Express Charger which can charge 2AA/AAA's in 16 minutes or 4AA/AAA's in 34 minutes. And the battery life
is like 20 hours before it needs recharging. I use it for my Xbox 360/Xbox 1 controller and Turtlebeach X42.

I've had Xbox 1 since Day 1. Unlike Xbox 360, you never had to update your controller, but with Xbox 1, I've NEVER updated my controller as I find it inconvenient. And I use the Xbox 1 Kinect for voice chat.

Lofty. Yeah that's the one I use, I bought an extra four batteries on top of the four that can with it, that way there are always four fully charged batteries for when me or the lad needs them. So eight batteries and a charger for the same price as a play
and charge kit.... Bargain.

I actually bought the play and charge kit when I got the X1, the battery pack died after four months.

 

Yea I have been using rechargeables for years for my Turtles and controllers, get good life out of the energisers.
