    Hello, I have a Electric Volt Xbox Series X|S wireless controller, which according to information on the internet should be usable both for a PC and a Mac. It works wonderfully on the PC with no detectable problems, however, each time it is connected to a Mac, specifically in steam, the computer recognizes it not only as itself, but also as though 2-10 other controllers were being connected as well.

    The weird thing is that the other controllers are marked as Xbox 360 controllers, and when you click the button that should make them rumble to identify them, the controller doesn't rumble. It only rumbles on for the first visible controller which is the xbox series X|S.

    It causes all kinds of problems in games such as not being able to do remote play, as it fills up all available slots with the one controller, and bugs the games themselves so that none of the buttons or camera functions work. We have tried multiple kinds of games and all of them have issues when using a Mac.

    Please help, as we find this very frustrating since the controller says that it should work on a Mac.

    Xbox one controller not connecting to Xbox Wireless Adapter for win10

    Summary: I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    Longer description: I installed fresh windows 10, downloaded and installed all win updates, then I tried all these steps and at the end controller started working.

    1) plugged wireless adapter into USB windows 10 recognized it but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    2) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    3) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port started task manager removed Xbox one adapter, windows found it again but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    4) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port (front) started task manager removed Xbox one adapter and Xbox drivers, windows found it again installed it but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    5) FINALLY, I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    We understand that you're experiencing an issue with being able to connect your Xbox One wireless controller to your Windows 10 PC as it is not recognized as a device.

    As Geth mentioned, Bluetooth connection to a Windows 10 device will work just fine for Xbox One controllers, depending on the model of the controller. Certain older Xbox One controllers do not support Bluetooth connections.

    You shouldn't need to click the connect button on the controller, just plugging it in via USB should be enough to recognize it by the computer and be able to update through the Accessories app.
