    Xbox one controller won't update


    Hi all

    I have 2 xbox controllers, one updated fine to the latest firmware, but the other is stuck on 1.1.260.3. Every time I try to update this controller it turns the controller off and then comes up with

    There was a problem updating your controller.

    The main reason I want to update is because it randomly disconnects whilst playing games

    I've tried many but they all don't work. Is there a specific one that you used.

    I'm trying to update my controller so I can use my headset...it keeps saying it's not connecting with the USB cable. I've tried using a different USB cable but that didn't work.

    The controller charges/switches on while connected with the USB cable so I don't know why it won't update?

    The controllers on through the USB cable, I connect the headset adapter, I plug in the headset, it says the controller needs an update and takes me to the screen...then says the USB cable isn't connected?

    I've ran out of ideas and need help, thanks!

    Have you tried hard resetting and then trying the update again?

    A hard reset can usually fix most problems.

    XBox One Controller on PC no longer works

    I've tried to force the driver change to Xbox One Controller with no luck. The controller won't switch. And again, it still won't show up under Devices, only "Controller Updater".

    I've tried that...it still says the usb cable is disconnected from the controller and won't allow the update to happen.
