XBox One controller won't turn on console, even after some basic troubleshooting tactics

My XBox One controller will not turn on my Xbox One. Here are some of the tactics I've tried:

1. New batteries (actually, an official Microsoft rechargeable pak), so that is not the issue.

2. With batteries out, and XBox power supply unplugged from the back of the XBox, I did the press and hold power ordeal on both. Also did individual one-offs by console only and controller only as well.

3. I have synched the controller to the console using a USB cord. (Even an official Microsoft one from my rechargeable battery pak.) Checked for updates for the controller.

4. The other way to sync the controller, which involves the button on the console and the button on top of the controller, has been done.

So that said, one of those methods, and I can't remember which one at the moment, worked and it lasted like two days tops.

There is no new interference the console isn't already exposed to. It worked fine for a year since my last Internet and cable change. I am inclined to believe that if it were that, I'd have noticed a year ago.

I have searched the Internet and taken about every tactic I have done from these very XBox forums. So unless I missed something, to which I will gladly try, what else am I to do?

Xbox 360 help/fix

So my Xbox 360, I can turn it on and see it on my tv screen and everything..but the green light some times doesn't light up & my controller won't sync but my controller can turn on But even when the light turns on my controller still won't sync help?

Xbox one controller

Xbox one controller won't turn on. I was playing a game and then the controller just disconnected and now it won't even turn on. Tried all of the suggestions on the support page none have worked. Any ideas how to fix? It's the controller with the 3.5mm jack.

I'm sorry to see any issues with the controller! You've done quite a bit, and it's starting to sound like there's either a controller or console specific issue. With that, I've got a couple of follow up questions.

When the controller is wired into the console, does it turn on the console? Do you have another controller to test this, or access to another console to test your controller on? That will help determine where the issue lies.

I'm sorry to see any issues with the controller! You've done quite a bit, and it's starting to sound like there's either a controller or console specific issue. With that, I've got a couple of follow up questions.

When the controller is wired into the console, does it turn on the console? Do you have another controller to test this, or access to another console to test your controller on? That will help determine where the issue lies.

We'll be able to look into other options once I know the answer to these. I look forward to working with you!

The issue has proven to be very simple: The official Microsoft

recharge pack was not 100 percent in the controller and not making a good connection, despite me putting in normally.

I had to use decent force to put it into the controller and not an issue since. And I found this out because the controller would not charge, but now does perfectly.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Sorry to hear that your

Xbox One won't turn on, even after troubleshooting. The standard warranty on any Xbox console is 1 year, so if you are out of warranty and were offered an exchange for a refurbished console, then that would be standard practice. A refurbished model is basically
a recycled outer shell and all new internal components, so essentially a new Xbox console.

If you have previously already attempted the troubleshooting (see the link above), including a different power supply, and your console no longer functions, then it would need to be replaced.

Sorry to hear you have been having these issues with the Xbox One S turning off suddenly after turning it on.

I would advise going through the troubleshooting provided in the support article that follows to try and get this issue resolved.

Your Xbox One X, Xbox One S, or original Xbox One console won't turn on

If the issue persists after all troubleshooting has been attempted, then unfortunately you will need to have the console serviced.

First dear sir, have you tried that headset on some other source than the Xbox controller? Just to be sure. After that try the power cycle your console. Are you part of the insider program? There has been some issue with sound. Try to sync your controller
again.
