Xbox One Controller Won't Sync to PC

I have gone through all the steps to hookup my Xbox One controller to my PC via USB-MicroUSB cable, and all my drivers are updated. However, when I go to actually use the controller, it doesn't work. It seems that the issue is that it doesn't sync, but I
may be wrong. Any input?

Xbox One Controller - Transition from PC to Console

All,

While using the Xbox app on windows 10 with the controller connected to the PC via a USB cable, I can stream, play, control, etc. the console from the PC. No issues here.

When I then close the Xbox app and disconnect the controller from the PC, the Xbox button on the controller flashes and won't sync up with the console. I have to manually hit the sync buttons on the console and the controller to get it to reconnect. Even
if I hold the Xbox button on the controller for 5 seconds to turn it off, then turn it back on, it does connect automatically. I have to use the sync method.

Note: I do not have to power down the console to reconnect, simply use the sync-button method as described above.

Is there a way I can more seamlessly transition the controller between the PC and console without having to resync them? This is a inconvenience for my situation.

I don't know why Microsoft doesn't give access to the driver!!!??? I found this link to the .cab file. I extracted it and it worked fine. I was able to get the wireless adapter to connect.

I opened device manager and clicked on other devices tab. Double clicked on the xbox acc device, etc, then click on driver tab. update driver and browse to folder that you extracted from the cab file.

@PraiserCat I've tried this so many times, using that driver and the official one from their catalog website and even with it installed it continues to give me a Code 10. Even after uninstalling and attempting to reinstall the driver, always "Device cannot
start Code 10"

I don't think it can be fixed with an update.

When you plug an Xbox One controller into an Xbox, the console also automatically syncs the controller to the console's own proprietary wireless receiver, which incidentally doesn't use Bluetooth. When you plug the controller into a PC it looks for this
propitiatory wireless signal to sync to but doesn't find it and therefore because of this search it is no longer synced to the console.

There is no way to disable this automatic sync process as it's by design. A feature to make connecting to a PC using the official receiver easier. I'm pretty sure if you buy the official Xbox One wireless receiver for Windows, the controller should automatically
sync to this when you insert the micro USB cable from the PC to the controller and therefore you won't need to keep pressing the bind buttons, but I'm afraid syncing is something that you will have to keep doing, one way or another unless you buy a second
controller.

You need to have your controller synced directly to the PC if you want to control it. If the controller is synced to the console, it won't control the PC.

For now, why not just turn off the Xbox at the wall, then sync your controller to your PC, then turn the Xbox back on at the wall. That way you wont turn the Xbox One on when syncing the controller to the PC.

Hi I'm using the new bluetooth model Xbox One controller but it won't connect via Bluetooth to my PC. It was working for me for quite a while and one day it lost sync, when I tried to resync it showed up as just "Input" instead of Xbox One controller
like it had before. It's done the same thing with my other Xbox One bluetooth controller
