    Xbox One Controller Won't Power on and Online Support Center is being Silly


    I received a new Wireless Xbox One Controller in Lunar White today and it refuses to power on. I've tried replacing the batteries for a fresh pair and the LED's won't even light up. Tried plugging it into my computer and the controller vibrates, but then
    my computer won't recognize it as an Xbox One controller. Same result on a different computer. This was after reading the controller issues F.A.Q. and I tried to register my controller on the online support center, but apparently the serial number is too long
    to register it, which apparently is necessary to even state my issue and apply for a repair/return.

    Any suggestions?

    For both of the issues described in this thread, I recommend checking our
    Xbox One Controller Won't Power On     support article for steps to resolve. FastenedPegion5, I do see you've tried multiple steps from that page already, but I recommend checking that page to be sure each step has been followed.

    If the issues persists after following the steps on that page, your Xbox One controller may need to be repaired. To begin the repair process, please visit our
    Online Service Center.

    Xbox won't turn on

    Have you tried running through the steps on our
    Xbox One Won't Power On support page    ? Please be sure to run through each step to attempt to resolve the issue. If the issue persists, your Xbox One console may need to be repaired. You can start the repair process over at our
    Online Service Center.

    Update:

    Okay, so the controller actually turned on this time and the logo lit up properly. When I connect it to my computer though, it still doesn't read it properly, and this is having tried on two computers will multiple micro-USB cables. In both cases, the computer
    only recognizes it as a "Controller" with Device Information unknown. When I trouble shoot the controller, it says the problem is that there are no drivers for it then it looks for the drivers. It then says the drivers cannot be found and then nothing. Any
    suggestions would be helpful.

    I believe it may be as simple as a Power Cycle

    Restart your console from the Power Center

    1. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
    2. Select Restart console.
    3. Select Restart.

    Try a power cycle, it can help sort out bugs like the one you are experiencing.

    Restart your console from the Power Center

    1. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
    2. Select Restart console.
    3. Select Restart.
