Xbox one controller won't fully sync.

hi,

i have bought a new controller for my xbox and thought i had sync'd it correctly and had played a game earlier. I have turned it back on again and the controller appears to not be sync'd correctly. Some buttons work however the analog joysticks don't work
and the dpad is constantly scrolling left.

Any ideas?

Controller Sync button won't work on console

So I have an issues with my console. The sync button won't work anymore as I am trying to sync my new Elite controller. It only works via USB. I tried updating the system and controller, battery is fully charged, I did numerous hard resets, factory resets,
and power cycle. Nothing seems to work.

I made the mistake of applying for the preview program, where you get beta builds of updates before the public. Went to install the controller update and it stopped at 66%. Now the xbox thinks my controller is fully updated and will only work when plugged
in. Won't sync at all now. THANKS MICROSOFT.

Did you update the controller from the Settings menu? If not, you should do that.

Also, you could try re-syncing the controller manually by holding the sync button on the controller (at the front) and the button on the console (left side in front of the USB port) until the light on the controller blinks.

thanks for the reply. yea I've tried resyncing it using the sync buttons but no change. ill try the settings menu now.

i tried to go to settings but as this is my only controller I'm not able to go any further than the settings general menu with kinect

Ok, try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down. See if that helps any.

Nah still no luck. Turned the console off correctly and as soon as I turn it back on the same again. But it doesn't happen until I press any button on the controller and then it starts to scroll right again. Just going to take it back to currys n exchange

I just got one, and It still won't sync, I have a wired controller on the way to see if it is the controller.

Basically, I'll turn on the Xbox, the controller will work for a few moments, then the console stays on, and the controller just dies this works on any of my controllers. If i remove the batteries of the controller and plug it in via a micro usb cable then
fully turn off the console then turn it back on, the controller will stay synced and working. If i put the batteries in and use wireless it will work for a few minutes then the controller stays on, fully synced but the controller doesn't work...

The batteries are 4 different sets, 2 cheap ones, 1 Duracell and 1 set of rechargeable ones that work perfectly on my pc.

All 3 normal batteries are brand new, but this is the same on both controllers.

The wireless keeps disconnecting me now as well.

If connected to the wireless i can use the app to control the Xbox perfectly

If it's under 90 days, you should be able to claim warranty - otherwise it sounds like it may need to be replaced.

It might be covered by warranty, so that might be worth looking into.
