Xbox one controller wont do anything!!!

My controller wont connect at all, ive tried swapping out the baterries with new ones, ive tried conecting via usb cable but i get get nothing the stupid thing just stays lit up even without touching the home button ive even tried disconnecting the console
from the mains.

can you check ist with a pc? can you connect the Controller with the pc and check it works? how old is the Controller?

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console

If that doesn't work then you may need to replace the controller but before you do try testing with a different controller if you have access to one.

just asking but have you tried both pairing buttons. One on the controller and one on the Xbox. Make sure you hold down the button on the controller. It should start flashing when ready to pair with the Xbox.

Everything is up to date, controller and console. The sync button on my Xbox one doesn't seem to do anything when I press it & I can't play unless my controller is plugged in, even when its plugged in it wont even vibrate.
