Xbox One Controller wont connect to xbox one or PC no matter what. Just blinks and turns off

Title, this has been happening for like a week now, even hardwired the controller wont work.

Xbox one controller problem

Hi.

I have strange issues with my xbox one controller on my PC (windows 10 64bit).

I never had issues in wired mode. But if I try to turn controller on in wireless mode it just blink and then turn off.

I find out if I send PC to sleep and wake up it connect with no problem.

If i manually replug adapter it works too.

How can I solve this inconvenience?

Need Controller help!

Hello, I have been trying to use my Xbox One Elite controller for 2 days now and nothing I have done has worked. My controller can turn on the xbox but after that it won't connect and just blinks until the controller eventually turns off. I've tried power
cycling leaving the xbox completely unplugged for 30 minutes. Usb cable nothing I do will keep the controller connected. The xbox controller will sync but my xbox itself wont sync when i press the buttons. I've also tried new batteries and everything.

Try taking the batteries out of the controller and completely disconnecting it from the console. Let it stay powerless for a couple of minutes then put new batteries in it and give it a try. Not sure it will do any good but I have had that help when my
controller was not responding.

If that doesn't work see if you can borrow a controller to make sure it is not a problem with the console.

It may be that the controller has died. Hope not. Good luck!

You could do like how Genesis1953 suggests.

Another suggestion is to do a power cycle on the console to see if that could clear it up. Have you tried pressing the button where the wire goes to the console/USB goes to charge it? Its in between the LB and the cord/USB part.

I was having the same problem with my controller not working this morning and I tried Genesis's suggestion of taking out the battery and my idea of the button by the USB part of the controller. It didn't seem nothing would work till I did a power cycle on
the console and that seemed to clear everything out and it finally got my controller to work again.

For now, why not just turn off the Xbox at the wall, then sync your controller to your PC, then turn the Xbox back on at the wall. That way you wont turn the Xbox One on when syncing the controller to the PC.

I can't update the controller because it doesn't show up in the xbox accessories app. I also don't think the controller is damaged because I tried my Xbox One controller which was also working fine before my windows updated, and now it's having the exact same issue. When connected to my PC it just blinks for a while before turning off.

No its not fast. It blinks slow like it usually does before it powers off but instead of blinking once or twice like normal it just keeps going.

I should add too that the controller light stays on and connected too. It wont turn off either. I’ve tried the go-to hard reset as well and it didn’t fix the issue.
