  1. Xbox One controller won't connect to my Windows 10 laptop via USB

I got a used Xbox One controller. It works perfectly fine on Xbox One both wired and wireless. But when I try to plug it in to my laptop via USB it lights up and rumbles, but then 10 seconds later it just connect/disconnects repeatedly every few seconds
without recognizing the device. Here's what I've tried so far:

    - Tried 3 different USB cables

    - Tried all 3 USB ports on my laptop

    - I have all the latest updates for Windows 10

    - In "Choose or Customize a Power Plan" >> Change Plan Settings >> Change Advanced power settings >> USB Settings >> USB Selective Suspend Settings >> Changed from Enabled to Disabled

    - In Device Manager >> Human Interface Devices I've changed the properties to all my USB ports in the Power Management Tab and unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    - Manually installed the drivers.

    - And no other USB devices have problems connecting to my laptop.

Heck, I even booted into a live Linux Mint session via USB drive and the controller seemed to work fine there. But I want it working in Windows 10!

Any other suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

    :)

Windows 10 automatically installs driver and pair with an Xbox One Wireless Controller

Hi. I am having some problems with my Xbox One Wireless Controller and Windows 10 laptop connection. I hope you can help me, below are the details of the issue.

    1. When I turn on bluetooth, Windows 10 automatically installs driver for a Xbox Wireless Controller even if my controller is still switched off. I tried removing the paired controller from the devices but everytime I restart bluetooth it reinstalls again.

    2. When I try to connect my Xbox Wireless Controller to laptop via bluetooth, Windows 10 cannot detect the controller. I can only use my controller via wired usb connection.

I have installed this before and works perfectly via bluetooth, now I can only use the controller via wired usb connection.

  3. My Xbox One controller won't connect to my Windows 10 laptop

I wish to steam games to my Windows 10 laptop. I have set up streaming from the Xbox App and can successfully do it; however when the streaming starts, I get a notification saying that there is no controller connected - even though I have my Xbox One controller
plugged in to my laptop USB port via a mirco USB adaptor (a longer version of the standard one you get with the Xbox One).

My controller vibrates when I connect it to my laptop this way, but this message still appears. Please send help!

Xbox One controller on Windows 10

There are a few ways that you can use an Xbox One controller on Windows 10.

First being if you are using a device that has Bluetooth you would be able to connect the control by pressing the sync button on the upper pat of the controller then looking for the controller on your device panel.

Second, you are able to connect via USB.

Third, if you are using a computer/laptop that does not have the ability to receive Bluetooth, then you must purchase the Windows 10 Xbox adapter.

    Hope this helps!

My earbuds are not working well

So if I understand you correctly, you are streaming from your console to your laptop, and you have your controller connected to the laptop with your earbuds connected to the controller?

How is your controller connected to the laptop? Via MicroUSB cable or via the Xbox wireless adapter for Windows 10?

    Xbox one controller not connected?

    Hi,

I think your laptop is connected on the wifi… and maybe your Xbox too.

To get 100% working streamer use ONLY ethernet cable for both.

    Please read this > https://support.xbox.com/games/game-setup/how-to-use-game-streaming

About your controller not connected ,use a usb cable to connect it on your laptop, and follow this to setup the controller correctly with the lastest update on the Windows 10 laptop > https://support.xbox.com/xbox-on-windows/accessories/how-to-update-xbox-one-controller-windows-10

    XBOX accessories issue

    Hi,

The Xbox One Wireless Controller can be used to play Xbox games on your PC when connected via micro-USB cable or a wireless USB adapter. To properly isolate your concern, please provide us the following information:

    • Are you trying to use an Xbox Elite Controller?
    • Are you using a micro-USB or a wireless USB adapter to connect the controller to your PC?
    • Do you receive the same message when using the controller on the Xbox App?
    • Have you installed the drivers for the controllers on your Windows 10 PC?

In the meantime, we suggest that you connect the controller via Bluetooth by following the steps on this

    link
to check if the issue is with the controller or the configuration settings on your computer.

Adapter Xbox 360 for PC and new controller.

    Hi,

    I’m Killing Skids

The Answer Is Yes as Long As it has Bluetooth or wireless connection
    Hi,

That's not quite right. Apologies for quoting you.

The Xbox 360 controller uses a proprietary wireless technology, it's not Bluetooth and the old adaptors won't work with a modern controller like the Xbox One or Series X|S controllers.

Unlike Xbox 360 wireless controllers, Xbox One and Series controllers can also be connected via USB cable. Old Xbox One controllers use Micro USB, Series Controllers are USB C.

To use an Xbox One/ Series controller via wireless on a PC and get basic functionality, all you need to do is connect the controller via Bluetooth. If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth then you'll need to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle, they're very cheap, less than $10. I'm from the UK and I connect my Series X controller to my PC via BT dongle I purchased from Amazon for about £5.

For extra wireless features you'll need the Xbox One Wireless Adaptor for Windows 10. Unfortunately, the official Microsoft branded adaptors are now quite rare.
