Xbox One controller will not stay on, turns off immediately, possible interference issue

Purchased an Xbox one secondhand. Brought it home, hooked everything up, turned on my system and my controller and everything worked great! Ever since the first time I used the system, whenever I go to turn on my controller the home button will flash once
and not stay on. It is fully updated, works perfectly fine when connected via a USB cable, but will disconnect as soon as I remove the USB cable and does the same thing to where it won’t stay on. The batteries I put in the controller were new, but I also tried
putting another new set of batteries in and this didn’t make a difference. I took it over to a friend’s house to try it out there. As soon as I walked in the door and tried to turn it on, it worked perfectly fine, so I figured it must be an interference issue
with my setup at the house. Whenever I got home that night, I went to walk out of my garage, which is a detached garage about 50-60 behind my house, turned on my controller just to see what it would do. It began flashing like normal, like a controller that
wasn’t connected, then once I got closer to the back door, it turned solid as if it was connected. I walked in and saw that the Xbox one was turned on and I was able to use the controller wireless with no issues for several hours. Later that night though,
after I stopped playing for a little bit and my controller went to sleep, I attempted to turn the controller back on and had the same issue where it flashed once and turned off. Again, assuming maybe it was just some sort of interference issue, I tried taking
the console to another room. The room where I have my main TV and my console also has a Samsung soundbar and subwoofer that communicate to each other through Bluetooth. You can’t stream music to them through Bluetooth, but like I said, they communicate with
each other via Bluetooth. I figured there was a pretty good chance this was the issue. However, I tried the system in two other rooms in the house where I have TV’s, my bedroom and my office. I had the same trouble with both setups. The office has my Netgear
Dual Band router in there, so I thought that could possibly be some interference too, but the system was a good 10 feet away from it at this point. In my bedroom, there is nothing else that would be interfering with the signal, yet I had the same issues. The
only constant with all of these issues is the possibility of interference from the router. I tried switching channels on the router and had no luck trying this. I just can’t figure out what else could be causing the interference issues. If there are other
settings that could be adjusted on the router, I would be willing to try those. I have tried looking all over the internet for people having the same issues I am having and really have not had any luck. A lot of possibilities, but I can’t seem to find this
    exact issue anywhere else.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

    :)

  2. Xbox restarts.

My xbox slim will not turn off and stay off. When I turn it off it immediately restarts. There is also a 'phantom' controller connected. There are no background downloads turned on. The problem began after the latest live update.

  3. Xbox one controller randomly disconnecting

Recently my controller randomly disconnects from my xbox one. The light on the controller doesn't turn off and it reconnects after about 5 seconds. the batteries are charged and i also bought a brand new controller, still the same issue. I havnt changed
anything in terms of the set up in my house and Ive tried removing possible sources of interference, like other wifi capable devices but the problem remains. Anyone else have a similar problem??

Unbelievable connection problems with the controller

Hi Light, Does the controller stay turned on or does it switch itself off when trying to connect to your Xbox One? Do you have anything between yourself and your Xbox One that could potentially interfere with the signal between your controller and the console?
Does your Kinect sensor work okay?

Can't connect Controller to Xbox One X

    Hi Tarkov510,

Sorry you're having issues connecting your controllers to your Xbox. Are these known good working controllers? If they're not syncing via wireless, then I would suggest trying to plug them in via USB. They should immediately connect, and stay connected.
If you're still having issues, then try doing a hard reset. To do this with the console powered on, hold the power button down for about 10 seconds until it turns off. After it's off, turn it back on and try to see if they start connecting.

    Wireless controllers disconnecting

I had a similar issue with my Day One Xbox One and the Day One controller. I was told that it was possibly an issue because of some wi-fi interference. If your home router is set to automatically find a suitable channel, it might have swapped to a wifi
channel that is causing interference between the Xbox One and the Xbox One controllers. When I changed my wifi channel, the problem went away.
