    Xbox One Controller Volume Control

    Hi,

It would be great if the Xbox One controller could adjust the TV volume via a shortcut in future. This would allow most people to have no dependence on any remote controls at all.

    :)

    Receiver volume using controller

Is it possible to turn receiver volume up or down on a receiver connected to the Xbox one using the controller? I can change the volume using voice "Xbox volume up", etc, but I can't find any controls on the controller to do the same.... thanks

Kinect barely ever hears your command if the tv is already on high volume and you're trying to lower it..

When you calibrate your Kinect turn the volume about 20 notches above where you normally listen to it and high enough for the Kinect to tell you to turn it down... then back the volume down until the Kinect begins calibration. This will allow the Kinect
to hear you over games and TV.

The Kinect does this very well one calibrated.

    OR

Are you suggesting that the stereo adapter when not using headphones control volume?

Definitely the stereo adapter should control main tv volume when nothing is plugged into it. I'm also suggesting for people without it that perhaps pressing 'select' - LB or RB could change the tv volume. It would be simple enough to programme in and would
be really convenient for those of us who dont like shouting 'Xbox volume up' three or four times every now and then.

Xbox One S audio output volume control

    Hi ZoltánBalázs2,

That is still not possible because volume control is only specific to the audio output device (speakers). You control volume only through the TV or any external audio device with speakers. The only exception to this would be volume control for headsets that
don't have the volume control built in. In this case if you plug in a headset to the Xbox One controller via the 3.5mm jack, then volume is controlled by a slider found in the Xbox Accessories app when looking at the controller's settings.

In conclusion, the Xbox One console is not responsible for the volume of the audio output as that is handled by the audio output device itself. The Xbox One just processes the audio formats to whatever you have set it to in the Audio output settings and
then the audio travels to your audio output device, which is what has the volume control. Therefore, as far as volume control goes, the Xbox One Media Remote is only able to control the volume on your TV that you have set up with your Xbox One under the TV
& OneGuide settings and then in "Device Control".

As mentioned previously, please refer back to that support article on what the remote is used for.

My Uverse remote will not control my Denon AVR-2112ci volume

Unfortunately there is nothing blocking it. My Uverse remote will control the XBox volume but not receiver. The following is a link to a similar situation: www.avsforum.com/.../xbox-one-snap-tv-game-volume-control-issues

Smart Glass and all of my other remotes control the receiver volume without issue. The only thing I can think of is a bad remote code but I cannot find the code for my receiver to manually input to Xbox.

At a lost and frustrated not being able to use my Uverse remote for volume.

    Volume control - help please!

    Hey GrayDrop634995!

Apologies for the delayed response! If you are wishing to send volume control signals to your Xbox One console, it will need to be via Kinect 2.0 or an IR blaster. There isn't a way to control volume through USB.

Here is more information on what you will need to
control volume through the Xbox One console
    .

Hope that clears up any questions you have! :)

    XB1 Stereo Adapter Volume Control

I use turtle beach headphones with the adapter. What I do is turn chat volume up with adapter, then I use the volume control on the cable connecting headset to controller to control chat volume while controlling game volume with volume control on the headset.

Xbox One Media Remote Volume Problems

I have this same issue with the remote not always controlling the volume on my Sony sound bar. One other thing I noticed besides the hit or miss volume control is that my Xbox won't change the volume either through remote control or voice control for the
first 5 or so minutes after the Xbox starts. Going to try to unplug and restart to see if that fixes the issue but I agree very annoying, the remote works ok besides that.
