    Xbox One controller vibrating continuously


    Early hours this morning I shut down my Xbox One console. When I restarted it hours later, the controller immediately starts to vibrate, and doesn't stop.

    I tried a few fixes, the first being, changing the battery over, from an identical controller, which didn't work. As soon as I power on using the Xbox button, it immediately started to vibrate.

    The second attempt was to connect the controller with an appropriate cable to the console. I did this twice, first with the battery still in the controller, second with the battery removed. Both attempts had identical outcomes. It didn't fix the issue of the continuous vibrating. That was my attempt at fault finding the issue.

    Lastly I attempted what was more likely the fix from the hundreds of choices I had, which was to, turn off the vibration function in the Xbox Settings, Ease of Access, Controller section. I was three for three, for unsuccessful attempts to solve my issue.

    HELP please.

    Change controller vibration on Xbox One
    Press the Xbox button to open the Panel, then select System > Settings.
    Select Accessibility > Controller, then select Vibration Settings.
    Choose the controller you want to edit and select Configure.
    For an Elite Xbox controller, select the configuration profile you want to edit. Then Select Edit > Vibrate and move scrollable sliders to adjust vibration settings.
    For the Xbox Wireless controller, select Enable Vibration to turn controller vibration on or off.

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. We understand that your controller is not vibrating in-game on your windows 10 device. was your controller ever vibrating before? Please make sure your

    controller is fully updated     before continuing to troubleshoot. If this is a new controller, you may want to consider a replacement if troubleshooting fails.

    Aside from that, please check the in-game settings for a vibration setting. You might need to turn it on.

    Your Xbox Series X/S controller should still work normally on Xbox One console.

    Make sure to change your vibration settings.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings.
    Select Accessibility > Controller, and then select Vibration settings.
    If you have multiple controllers, choose the controller that you want to change and select Configure.
    For an Elite Series 2 controller, select the configuration profile that you want to change, select Edit > Vibration, and then move the sliders to adjust the vibration.
    For an Xbox Wireless Controller, select Turn on vibration to turn vibration on or off.
