    Xbox One controller USB cables

My Xbox One is on one floor and My son play on another floor (Hdmi connected). He experience many controller disconnect message and I wonder how can I fix it.

Option 1 : get a signal repeater, I found none at this time.

Option 2: plug a male/female USB cable of 25 foot and he plays with a wired controller. How long can be the cable without loosing signal ?

    Thanks for your advice.

    :)

Q's about Xbox controller / batteries and recharging

If we place other brand AA rechargeable batteries (NiMh) in the xbox one controller (regular or elite) and if we connect the USB cable to the controller Will it recharge the batteries?

If there is no batteries in the controller and you connect controllers/usb cable to the Xbox or any other power source will the controller work as if it's a wired controller?

    Control one from another room

Yes i can distribute picture around the house fine but controller is the problem.

About the usb to cat6 converters, so get one power line adaptor with cat 6 cable, plugged into usb-cat adaptor then usb to xbox one.

Then upstairs another power line adaptor with cat6 cable plugged into usb cat adaptor then usb cable to xbox one controller...

Is this the proper way, is this the only way, effectively it will be a bit messy and will effectively be a wired cable, not wireless...

    Xbox One controller USB cables

I think the cable length doesn't matter as long as it's connected and everything is working properly.

  5. You'll start loosing signal strength at around 5m (16 ft) on a USB cable otherwise you will need to connect some USB hubs. The 3-5 cables can be chained together, but it depends on the device.

It's probably going to be easier to have him stream the games from the console to a Windows 10 PC on the same network.

And by doing that, you don't worry as much about someone tripping the cables when he his playing.

Just so I understand your setup properly:

You have a Xbox One on let's say the ground floor. Then you have an HDMI cord going from the console to the TV on the first floor or cellar?

Unfortunately, the controllers are designed to be played in the same room, as construction material in the floor (for example iron rebar in concrete floors) will interfere with wireless signals so much, that your son won't be able to connect properly through
floors. The radio in the controller isn't powerful enough to send and receive signals through walls or floors properly.

If there is really a need to have the console and actual playing space on different floors, your son should use any Windows 10 compatible computer that has a graphics hardware capable of decoding H264 video in hardware, and use the streaming function on
the Windows 10 Xbox App to stream gameplay via your network from the Xbox console to the Windows 10 device, where your son can connect a Xbox controller via Bluetooth or USB cable.

    PowerA enhanced wired controller

The controller has a detachable usb cable.

I tried the same usb cable with another Xbox One controller and i still got disconnected with movement of the cable. I wanted to test the Enhanced Wired Controller with another usb cable but i dont have any others that fit as the controller has a slightly
    different port for the cable.

USB Device Not Recognized Xbox one controller

    Bump

Mine hasn't worked for months and i get the same error message. (USB Device Not Recognized)

I'm connecting directly to USB using a usb cable.

Ive tried six different USB cables so its not a bad cable.

It used to work but now I have a useless xbox one controller since I don't even own an xbox one!

Note: This is the windows version of the xbox controller that comes with a usb cable. (same controller as console though)

Controller won't sync to my xbox

Using a USB cable to connect-

Connect your controller using a micro-USB cable (included with all standard Xbox One wireless controllers and the Xbox One Play & Charge Kit). Standard alkaline batteries won’t be used to power the controller functions while you’re using your controller
    as a wired controller.

If you’re using an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 or Xbox Adaptive Controller, connect your controller using a USB-C cable (included with both controllers).

Depending on the type of controller you have, plug the micro-USB or USB-C cable into the power port on the back of the controller then plug the other end of the cable into your Xbox One. More details can be found
here on connecting your wireless controller to Xbox consoles: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/connect-a-wireless-controller

    Problems with sync function

You should be able to do it following these steps:

    Hope this helps
