    Xbox One Controller update issues with headset adapter


    I am having serious controller issues when I was updating one of my xbox one controllers (the Titanfall controller).

    When updating my controller with the stereo headset adapter and the Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 450 I turned everything on plugging the jack into headset and the adapter connected to my controller. Then I connected my controller to my Xbox One via USB.

    With my headset on I got horrible static so I started........unplugging things to find the problem.........uh oh I Disconnect the USB mid update and my Titanfall controller shuts off! I found later after that dumb mistake with another controller that the static
    goes away once you update.

    However my Titanfall controller's xbox home light still went out and now the controller will not turn back on even after a change in batteries so how do I fix this issue?

    How do we update the controller? NO USB Cable comes with Xbox One.

    About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

    This is from:
    support.xbox.com/.../update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

    So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

    "As of the April 2014 Xbox One System Update, the firmware update for the controller and stereo headset adapter has been updated and includes significant improvements to audio quality with the Stereo Headset Adapter and the process of updating controllers.
    If you have taken the update previously and are having issues with your stereo headset adapter, please update your controller again with the latest Controller Update. You can update your controller by going to Settings, System, and then Controller update."

    It is now April and still no update. So this means by the end of April?

    Xbox One Controller update issues with headset adapter

    Hey Farquad4 -

    Sorry to hear about the issue. Please try removing the batteries from your Xbox One controller and connecting your controller to your Xbox One console via USB until it powers on. This should help reset your controller so you can apply the latest controller
    update.

    There could be a lot of reasons causing that issue. You will want too troubleshoot the issue. For example

    Are you using the stero adapter with the headset or just pluging right into the controller 3.5mm jack? If your using the adapter is possable its faluty

    Try the headset on a other controller if it works then its likley the other controller auido port isnt working

    Try the headset on a other device such has a PC or phone if the headset to test the headset

    Also make sure your controller is updated

    Start with some basic troubleshooting steps:

    • Power cycle your Xbox One console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds.
    • Update your Xbox One controller with your headset adapter attached.
    • Make sure your controller has fresh batteries.
    • Make sure your headset adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your headset's 3.5mm cable is securely plugged into the headset adapter.
    • Try your headset with another device (Like a cell phone) to see if the issue continues to occur.
    • Try your headset and headset adapter with another controller. (Make sure the additional controller has been updated)
