    Xbox One controller update issue

Hello! So i downloaded the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Update and now none of my headsets work.

here is what i have tried so far

    1. i cleaned the male and female end of the connection (allowed to dry) then tried again with my stock headset and my adapter

    2. tried to reupdate my controller ( was told controller was up to date

    3. powered off console completely ( no change)

    4. Complete cold restart (no effect)

i cant think of anything else to do since i cant remove my controller update. I just want to be able to chat and right now i can not and its really frustrating

    :)

    Hello AdroiTWOZ,

I was wandering have you tried to update the xbox one controller and does this issue still occur? If you have not tried to update the controller the steps are here to follow.

Before trying these updates be sure the controller has the stereo adapter connected.

    Wirelss Update
    HERE
    - An Xbox One Wireless Controller purchased in or after June 2015 can take updates wirelessly without connecting via USB cable. This controller has a small, circular 3.5-mm port on the bottom of the controller; controllers without this port must update
    via USB cable.

    Wired Update
    HERE
    - Follow these steps to update your controller via USB and to support the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter:

If any trouble shoot issue are need they can be found
    HERE.
Let us know if you all ready tried these steps?

  4. Xbox One controller update issue

    Hi SgtCluckers,

I gather that you're trying to update your controller so that you can use the xbox Stereo Adapter.

    Real short....

    1. lay the controller down

    2. go into settings (I gather you know where to go from your post)

    3. plug in the stereo adapter AND THE HEADPHONES

    4. leave the controller laying down*Really Important*

    5. plug in the mini USB cable from the Xbox One console

    6. start the update *Do not move the controller or the cable while its updating*

    Here are the official steps:
    support.xbox.com/.../update-controller-for-stereo-headset-adapter

-Make sure your console is on and you’re signed in and connected to Xbox Live.

*Note It’s important to connect to Xbox Live because your console will need the latest system update, which contains the newest controller software. If you’ve connected recently, your Xbox One is probably already up to date, but you should connect anyway
just to be sure. If your console needs an update, you’ll be prompted to install one.

-Plug the Stereo Headset Adapter into the bottom of your controller.

-Plug in a headset (a headset must be plugged in so the adapter will turn on).

-Plug the big end of the included USB cable into the port on the side of the console.

-Plug the small end of the USB cable into the top of the controller

-Instructions to install the update should automatically be displayed. Follow the instructions, and don’t disconnect the USB cable while the update is in progress. (The process can take up to 3 minutes.)

If instructions to install the update are not automatically displayed, you can start the process manually. To do this, press the Menu button, select Settings, select System, select Update controller, and then select Continue.

-When the update is complete, unplug the USB cable. If you have additional controllers to update, connect them now, one at a time, select the Update another button on the screen, and then follow the steps.

    - Press the Xbox button on the wireless controller to turn it on. Your controller is now up to date, and you’re ready to use your Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.

    Notes

The auto-detect feature of this update may not work immediately if you plugged your Stereo Headset Adapter into the controller while downloading a system update or while the console was turned off. Unplug and re-plug the adapter into the controller
    while at the Xbox Dashboard.

You can also update your controller by going to Settings, System, and then Update Controller.

If you’re charging your controller via an external power source, connect it to the console.

You only need to update your controller one time. But if you plan to use the Stereo Headset Adapter with other Xbox One controllers, you’ll need to follow this process for each controller.

If you try to update a controller that was already updated, the system will check the controller and proceed to the success screen within a few seconds to indicate it is already updated.

If you have more than one controller connected via USB, the update will tell you to disconnect the other controller and update just one controller at a time.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    Hi,

I've been having the same issue since the last update (2 weeks ago). This is NOT a Windows 10 nor Xbox ONE controller's issue, because I can perfectly use 4 controllers to control both Steam games and Xbox ONE Windows 10 App. The controllers work fine with
the app, but one I start streaming, my Xbox only detects the first controller.

So, no power-cycling nor controller's firmware update is going to fix that.

I hope they acknowledge this issue and fix it in the next Xbox ONE update.
