xbox one controller unable to connect to bluetooth on pc

hi, my xbox one controller connects on console perfectly via usb cable and also wirelessly but on pc it connects via cable only my Bluetooth device on pc is unable to detect controller but other devices shows normally. any help will be appreciated. thanks

If you haven't already done so, may I suggest following up with "Connect and troubleshoot Bluetooth on your
Xbox One Wireless Controller" . If you continue to have a problem connecting via Bluetooth, I would be curios if the controller works with your PC using the USB port, "How

Connect my Xbox One controller to my PC

Hi there,

please be sure that the Xbox One controller that you got, does support bluetooth, since only the latest model (Xbox One S) does support bluetooth as far as I know.

What version of Windows are you running? Bluetooth only works on Windows 10 (when fully updated). On top of that, your PC's Bluetooth must support Bluetooth version 4.0.

thanks for reply, im using win10 fall creators update and a bluetooth adapter attached to my pc with properties manufacturer id 16 and firmware version is HCI 3.80 / LMP 3.3 it should work for me? or i need to upgrade my Bluetooth adapter?

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this issue. When it comes to the BT capability of the Xbox One wireless controller, it is not supported for all devices. Bluetooth is supported on PCs, tablets, laptops, and Samsung Gear VR. If your
device is unable to recognize the controller via Bluetooth connection, then it may be incompatible for pairing.

Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

Connect with a USB cable

Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

Connect via Bluetooth

Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

The redesigned controller has added Bluetooth to make it easier to connect to a W10 PC. That is all. The Xbox One S does not use Bluetooth to connect to the controller.

As Geth mentioned, Bluetooth connection to a Windows 10 device will work just fine for Xbox One controllers, depending on the model of the controller. Certain older Xbox One controllers do not support Bluetooth connections.
