    Xbox One Controller to pc using USB cable


    Hello. I am trying to connect an xbox one controller to my pc using a USB cable just as shown in the support page. The controller will connect and power on and then be unrecognized by windows as a device and any games as a means of controlling them. The
    USB port works with my now broken wired controller and the cable worked with my now broken wireless 360 controller. Any idea of how to get windows 10 to recognize it without having to buy the Bluetooth wireless adaptor?

    XBox controller disconnects from PC or stops responding

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    Other controller than the xbox 360 or one for playing

    there few USB adapter to use other controller but i recommend you the Xbox one controller you need a USB cable or USB wireless adapter.

    Hi,

    What type of USB cable are you using to connect your Xbox one controller to your PC? Have you tried another USB cable? It could be an issue with the cable not working right with the PC. Are you using the official play and charge USB cable for the Xbox
    One controller or a third party cable?

    Have you downloaded the correct driver? There are two drivers, one for 32-bit versions of Windows and one for 64-bit. If your computer is less than four years old, you should be running a 64-bit OS.
