xbox one controller thumb stick keeps breaking ?

Hi guys im on my second controller and its broken the left thumb stick has seem to have broken and not moving very well and when i shake the controller sounds like something is loose :/ any ideas please much appreciated and thanks

Xbox one controller right thumstick broke

dropped my controller on the ground and it ended up breaking my right thumb stick. The thumbstick does not allow me to look to the left. Plastic is moving in my controller where the thumstick is. What should I do? If I bought a xbox one can I just bring
in the controller and get a replacement?

POS controller

Hey guys,

So I'm on my third controller for Xbox One. I got the Day One edition, and the left thumb stick and right thumb stick broke within about 2 weeks of playing Ryse: Son of Rome and Battlefield 4. Got a second controller, same thing happened to the left thumb stick
and left bumper now. I am on my THIRD controller and the left thumb stick popped out of place and I can't even click it down anymore. I never had an issue with an Xbox 360 controller and so far I've burned through three Xbox One controllers. I've called support
and they haven't helped and I'm sick and tired of spending money on something that will break within 3 weeks. Microsoft, please do something to help me. Thank you

It seems to be a very common problem. There is a post in the support section that's currently 23 pages long, and no doubt many other posts regarding the same issue have already gone before that one. Have a read through it, and it will advise you on seeking
a replacement if you can.

A quick google search will tell you how common a problem it really is. It seems that the sticks first start to drift (move on their own). There is a plastic clip inside, which is breaking, so that will be the noise you hear when you shake the controller.
Once it actually breaks, the controller is un-usable.

Apparently these clips were made of metal on the 360 pads, hence the reason they lasted a lot longer. I've no idea why the design was changed to use cheap plastic clips for the X-One, but it certainly needs to be addressed, yet we are not hearing much in
the way of what they are doing about it - if anything.

I too have had the exact same problem with my 2 controllers. My recent one lasted little over a month.

Superglue my own thumb stick, sounds risky. Just keep sending back for replacement by MS. Eventually they will fix this and you will get XB1 controller v2 with fixed sticks...finger crossed. Of my two pads, one has loose left thumb stick and the other
has loose right thumb stick /sigh.

Rubber band the controller's thumb stick - thus keeping it moving lol

I have three of them for two xbox ones and the thumb sticks suck. All of them have at least one thumb stick that's kinda lose in the socket. I also have 3 ps4 controllers and the sticks are tight.

On topic, I do take breaks, regularly at the end of most levels for 2-20 minutes. Again, this is not from the strain of holding the controller, but form the presure on the specific point in my thumb that the stick meets the skin.

When I am pressing forward on the controller my thumb rides to the back ridt of the stick (if that makes sense). Its the thin edge of the stick that cuases the constant presure on my thumb. Its this localised presure thats bothering me.

Im thinking about trying some form of glove or thumb cover just for the left thumb....
