    Xbox One Controller thinking LT is being pressed


    Hi all, I was gaming on my Xbox One S and accidentally dropped the controller. A couple days after that, I started noticing that the left trigger would periodically stop functioning in the game I was playing (Apex Legends). I tried to get the trigger to
    start working again, but it got to the point where the only thing LT will do is say it is being pressed when it's not. I went into Xbox Accessories to try to figure it out, and all it will do is sit on the LT indicator. I disassembled the controller to try
    to figure it out, but haven't yet. If someone has this same issue and has a way to fix it, please let me know!

    No, this is an old Xbox One controller without the 3.5 mm jack for headphones. It's a shame that I will have to buy a new controller, but thanks for the help!

    Hey MagicCoder

    If the mapping of the controller shows the button permanently pressed in Xbox Accessories then it sounds broken or at fault.

    If you have disassembled the controller that will unfortunately void the warranty for a possible replacement.

    Is it a new generation controller that you are having the issues with?

    I have had my Xbox controller trigger break, I heard plastic rattling around the inside of my Xbox controller. This controller will become stuck, I think my sweat and other vegetable oils damaged the functionality of that controller.

    I will say, your control is broken. I could be wrong, you may find a fix.

    I recommend buying a new controller. I expect your internal electronics are damaged, that controller works even though it has a problem.

    I do not know if a controller has a motherboard, internal electronics is my reference to that motherboard of electrical hardware communications.

    this did not work the LT is still being read as pressed. even in steam games if Xbox configure support is unchecked but dose if checked. Xbox accessories app is working with the controller.

    Can you plug the wire into your controller and then go to My Games and Apps < Apps < Xbox Accessories < Under your controller press the three dots (...) then press firmware version then update now.

    If that doesn't work please let me know.
