Xbox One controller support to listen to audio exclusively

Is there a way to configure the xbox one controller to hear the audio from Netflix/Amazon Prime? I have this ability on my Roku remote, and would love to watch movies from the xbox one using the xbox one controller headset for audio. If not, does Microsoft
have plans to include this feature in an update?

Switch from headset to TV speaker

When you plug a headset into the controller, it doesn't automatically mute the TV speakers. Both audio sources (headset, TV speakers) continue to play. You may have had the TV muted or HDMI/Optical audio disabled while you were using the headset and troubleshooting
your audio.

Other suggestions to think of:

• Use a fresh change of batteries? Vibration and game audio gets disabled when the batteries run low.
  
• Check for controller updates.
  
• On "Headset Chat Mixer" slider bar, ensure it is set to at least (or at most) 50%. This balances game audio and chat audio from 100/0 to 0/100.
  
• Ensure the 3.5mm audio connector is firmly connected into the controller's audio jack.
  
• Test if your headphones aren't broken by connecting it to another audio source, like a laptop or MP3 player.

yeah buy a headset.. not the one for chat

 

Yeah just get the chat adapter and plug any headphones with the standard 3.5mm stereo jack and your good to go. Just set the balance on the chat adapter to full game/system audio and your good to go for wireless audio from your controller like the Ruku remote
does. $25 for the adapter, but if you get one of the headsets designed as a wireless headset through the controller for the Xbox One they all come with the chat adapter as well.
