Xbox One Controller Stopped Working Properly

It happened on the Dashboard, where moving the stick, using triggers and bumpers, and pressing buttons would not invoke a response. I can't select anything or move tabs, but only the Guide button works when holding it down. Pressing it only brings up the
side tab for half a second before sliding back. I tried turning on/off console, syncing my controller, and connected my USB charger cable, but nothing's working. What to do here?

grateful for your help . Purchased a Xbox design lab controller in March this year . two of the buttons have stopped working properly .canbyou help please ?

FPS gamers, what is the average life span of your analog sticks?

I just swapped out the old sticks for some new ones a few days ago on my Xbox One controller. The old sticks got loose and had a wobble to them. That controller is secondhand and had a heap of wear already. The new one I bought the left bumper stopped working
properly so I don't really use it anymore.

Hey there!

Is your controller still malfunctioning for you? If it is, try connecting it to your console via USB cable, without batteries in it, for 10-15 minutes without doing anything else on your console. You want to try to let your controller "reset" itself with
this. If that helped, go ahead and make sure that your controller is fully updated as well. If that doesn't work, do you have a local friend with an Xbox One console that you could test it out on? If it's still being wonky, unfortunately you may need to replace
the controller.

Hey StopDinosaur,

Today I'm having the same issue. My wirless Xbox One Controller isn't working properly. If I press the down botton on the D-pad, it keep stuck and moving down forever and my A, B, Start and other buttons stop working :|

I just did an update on my controller and I have tried it on another console but it still does the same thing. I do have another controller and it

works fine so I don't think it is the console that is the problem.

In this case, the controller is most likely the issue.
