Xbox One Controller select button not working properly

So I have an Xbox One controller since 2017, that I only use for PC gaming and I can only use it with bluetooth adapter since I broke the usb port (It broke so easily and I cannot fix it). Last few days my controller kept turning off after few seconds
but sometimes it worked. Today I discovered that my select button isn't working properly for some reason. My controller did not fall on the ground or anything. Select button just either doesn't work at all or its constantly pressed, and no matter how hard
I press status wont change. It's weird because it just happened, like, without a reason.

i had this issue on a xbox elite controller check for updates and see if your button is obstructed.

Well, it is probably worn out. I tried to update with Xbox Accessories but it's still bugging. I'm going to try to open it and see if I can do something.

Proabably just worn down, or something is obstructing it. Could even be a needed update on the controller?

i've gone through four or five controllers since 2016. they start to wear off quick and develop stick drift, the buttons become stuck, etc.

seeing as you've been using the same controller for three years it's almost safe to assume you may need to purchase a new one if the controller update doesn't fix the issue

Might be worn out from gameplay but we can try to update and I don't believe it's a controller mapping setting problem.

Step 1: Update your controller

If your controller connects when using a USB cable but doesn't stay connected after removing the cable, reconnect the cable and see if there’s an update available for your controller:

 to open the guide.
Under Profile & system, select

Under Devices & streaming, select
Accessories.
On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.
If it says there’s no update available, your controller is current. If it says “Update,” follow the steps provided.
Once your controller is updated, disconnect the USB cable and try connecting wirelessly again.
