XBox One controller scrolling down on Series S

I recently upgraded to an XBox Series S from the One. I have a DreamController that I was using with no problems on the One. Now on the Series S, it scrolls to the bottom of the home screen and won't go back up...side to side works with no problems, and so do all of the buttons. I did make sure the software is up to date. I have also tried cleaning the inside of the controller and it is still doing the same thing.

Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues with your controller.

Have you verified that your controller is not registering input from other buttons such as its triggers? that could be why it's scrolling down. You can do this by entering the controller's test mode at Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories > then click on the lab icon that's right next to the [...] button.

This should let you know if your controller is registering input from one of its buttons due to a hardware malfunction.

Go to 'My Games & Apps'

Scroll down to 'Applications' and click on 'Xbox Game Pass'

If you purchased the game from the Xbox One or Series X|S, go to games and apps, then full library, and scroll down until you find it. Select it and start the install.

If on Windows 10/11, Goto the Microsoft store, and then select library, then games, scroll down until you find it, and select install.

If Xbox 360 goto settings - account - download history ,and scroll down, select the game, then install it.

Make sure you are logged in with the account that purchased the game.
