Xbox One Controller Right Stick Drift issue and A button not working properly

Haven't had my console that long was given to me as a gift in november. The controller started having issues first with the A button not always responding. You have to mash it several times before it will open up an app or anything else from the menu. Today
to add to that issue the right stick will not balance your character properly and drifts up so that your facing the sky. If you set the invert axis and other settings differently thne it will make u face the ground. None of my games are playable now because
of this except for fighting games. For some reason it does not affect UFC. I only have thisconsole for three months I have never in my life seen a controller mess up that quick. I barely even use the console . This is unacceptable. I'm expected to pay for
FEDEx/UPS and provide packaging due to Microsfts screw up. That is also unacceptable. It appears this was a very poor quality device that wont last more than two or three months. On top of not being able to use the system I have to pay and wait a month to
get a replacement. Also unacceptable. Microsoft you have wont the trifecta of unacceptable.

Best 3rd party controller?

Razer sucks. I went through three before I gave up on them.

First one the A button stopped working, second and third had a large amount of drift in the stick.

If you want wireless then you need to stick to the official Xbox controller.

just as it seems. xbox one s controller right stick not working on steam. not able to look around with the right joystick on windows 10 in steam games. works with games from the windows store. Also causes drift in unity run time.

 

Could try making sure the controller is updated to the latest controller firmware. I had the same issue right stick drifting even though the stick was returning to dead center with a Day One controller after twelve months of use. I went with United States
Postal Service for $6 with tracking and insurance because it was like thirty cents more. FedEx and UPS wanted double and triple that. I bought a replacement from Best Buy along with a two year replacement and got my Day One back in like 21 days from when I
mailed it.

They make millions of these things so some make it past quality checks and will fail sooner than others. This is pretty much the same warranty service you will get from any company for controller, mice, keyboards that develop problems.

 

I updated the controller to the latest software and that didn't help. I also did all the other steps that Microsoft suggests. What I don't like is no where on this forum does microsoft acknowledge that there is an issue with Right or Left stick drift. In
one discussion a moderator dropped a link for controller issues that had nothing to do with the issue that was being discussed which is same as my problem. What makes me even madder is that the controller update was for making connectivity faster but does
nothing to fix this issue. Who cares if it takes a minute instead of four seconds to connect if you cant play your freaking game due to right stick drift. And I refuse to pay anything to send in my controller so that they can send me back another one that
is already used and filled with peanut butter stains. There needs to be a permanent fix for this or at best an updated design to their controllers so that this will never happen again. Sadly this issue is not being addressed. I think they found a good way
to scam everyone out of an extra $60 every two months.

 

I am having the exact same issue. When using my titanfall controller , the a button has to be hit several times and the right stick drifts. No abuse on the controller, no loose parts when you shake the controller lightly. Updated firmware, complete power
cycle of Xbox and nothing has fixed it. I do have another controller and it works fine. Any insights into this issue would be appreciated.
