Xbox one controller right analogue stick drifting up

left stick upward drift for me/

 

Left stick up for me too. I'm not sure when it started but it was around the time when I updated my controller for use with the stereo headphones. I thought it was a bug with Diablo III as that was the only game I was playing at the time and it does not
seem to show up in the dashboard.

 

Have the same problems since the last time I did a controller update.

 

I have a left stick drift. It sucks,cause it stops me from dancing in destiny.

 

It's poorly designed, the sticks grind themselves down from general use and the tiny bits of plastic end up inside the controller.

It used to kill my 360 controllers the one controller will probs die soon after only 3 months. plastic rubbing on plastic is always gonna break.

 

Same. On the dashboard I have to press A 4-5 times quickly for it to select something.

my right stick been drifting up and also my A button not working at times probably a few days after destiny release its been driving me crazy i updated it and once it finished same thing.

Well I just tried updating it again and it said it needs no update so I select update another then select the same controller again and it said the same thing then BAM NO MORE DRIFT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and a button works 100% im so happy
try it out just plug it up your controller and update it again to the latest one then select update another and do it again and see if it works for you.

 

Sorry I fell asleep late I played destiny for 4 hours fine left to get something to drink and came back and my character was looking up on his own so sorry it didn't work

 

My stick is now doing this. Just happened playing destiny. anyone got a valid fix yet?

 

Hey I kid you not man mines did he same I figured it out and now I'm good been playing crucible all night I'm still on and it's 5:30am no stick issues.

Ok so I was playing destiny when it launch it started the stick thing the right stick would drift up by itself so I was like wtf and tried the to update it and it did because it was out of date now I think destiny messed it up because he controller was different
(older update)

I say that because a lot of people been having the same issue after destiny and it's always the right stick looking up. So later I tried to update it again it seem like it work then went back to doing it as you can see in the post above I did.

Now tonight what I did after coming up with the conclusion of it being software related because I never used trid remote before. I quit destiny did a hard reset holding down the power button for 10 sec waited three turned it on signed in went to settings
plugged up my remote and took the batteries out went to settings devices went to the controller I hit the find button three times then hit update. It said its up to date do you want to update another I backed out did thre same then when it asked update another
I said yes and did the remote again and I'm now good to go it's now 5:35am I tried around 12 when I got off work if it still works till sat night I will let you know but right now seems a ok.

 

I'm now on my second controler and the up drift has started on the left analogue stick, that's 2 controllers in under a year! Love the feel and everything about them bar this obv manufacturing defect! Please allow us to change the dead zone on this to save
us keep goin out and buying more £50 controllers

 

Noted that these problems started to occur after the last update (1409) ???

 

I'm also having this problem after I installed Destiny.

 

It is impossible for me to play a game my controller keeps moving up and it gets worse Microsoft needs to update the controller or give new free ones

 

Seems like this is an ongoing problem. Mine has a defective left thumbstick. It moves on its own and makes playing anything impossible. They spent a million on the xbox one controllers development, and they need to get their money back so they can give us
ours for once again failing on the hardware side of things (had 4 360's die on me, and one slim)
