Xbox One controller re-sync problems

Whenever my controller happens to die mid-game, I replace the battery pack and/or batteries, and turn the controller back on. At this point, my controller is not working anymore. My character is stuck constantly turning in one direction because of the death
of the controller earlier. The controller is on and fully replenished with new batteries or a new battery pack, but it will not work anymore. The only way for the controller to work again is if I restart the Xbox. Thus causing me to lose my in-game progress.

Anyone else having this issue?

Do you have another controller to test on your Xbox? and have you tried to re-sync the controller to the Xbox?

 

Make sure to go into settings and assign the profile back to the controller.

I can only assume that's the fix. Ive noticed that games are omitting using the Kinect so sometimes our profiles go unassigned.

That is my suggestion....if not this....I don't know

 

But how can I assign a profile back to a controller, if the controller does not work until I turn off the Xbox? Once the Xbox is turned back on, everything works fine and is assigned as normal.

Also, can you use an Xbox One controller non wireless with the USB cord provided from a Rechargeable Battery Pack Kit? I use the cord only, and it works for 5 seconds, but then stops working just like before, and the only way to fix it is to restart the
Xbox.

 

If you're going to use the cord, take out the batteries. If you leave the batteries in, even with a cord, you will have the wireless problems.

 

If even the wired controller option without batteries doesn't work, you will not be able to assign a profile.
