Xbox one controller out of warranty

i have an Xbox one controller and recently the left trigger stopped working. I tried updating it, and tried other controllers which didn't have the problem. My issue now is that I just checked the warranty for my Xbox and it expired yesterday! I was wondering
if there's anything that can be done? Because I definitely can't afford another $60 for a new one.

Controller Warranty?

My controller drifts forward and I was planning on sending it in but someone on reddit pointed out to me that my controller was out of warranty. I bought my Xbox One in January. Is it out of warranty?

Problem with left stick

chat says xbox one controller warranty is 90 days from purchase. of course mine is out of warranty, barely used and less than year.

Microsoft is pretty strict on warranty periods. You can try to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and see if a customer rep can help you -- the worst that can happen is that they say "no".

Basically, if it isn't under warranty time anymore, you're pretty much on your own.

You'll have to attempt to repair it yourself (at your own risk) or just outright buy a new controller.

Id check youtube and ifixit. There are a few great tutorials on how to fix them.

When mine were out of warranty, i looked on youtube for some instructional videos on how to do some simple repairs. You’ll have to buy the parts from eBay or Amazon. I would only recommend this if the controller is out of warranty.

Both of my controllers for my xbox one are out of warranty. both still work alright but there are little things going on that i would want to get fixed on them like the sticks are a bit worn down and one of the ports for the headphone jack seems
to not work right. from what i have read once they are out of warranty microsoft won't do anything for them.. anyone know what can be done with controllers out of warranty that need little repairs? like I've mentioned they work just fine but just need little
fixes so i don't want to have to completely get rid of them and spend $50+ for a new one..

There's no official fix for an out of warranty as far as I'm aware. So either you'd have to find somebody reputable that does console/controller repairs, or find a guide on how to repair the controllers yourself.

From previous experience with the Xbox 360 controller, they were fairly easy to repair when it came to most issues except for stick drift. I assume the Xbox One controllers are a bit more complex though.
