Xbox one controller opening menu bar and closing

With issues like these, we'd recommend updating your controller as it might fix this issue. You can follow the steps mentioned in Update your Xbox Wireless Controller article to get it updated. The Xbox Gamer Bar works as a monitor to visualize some options within the game. this is why it closes. If you use an Xbox controller to play on the PC, with the button that has the Xbox logo (guide button) you can open the Game Bar with a single click, basically
it's just a popup menu.

Try opening a video in the YouTube app. Bring up the video controls and select the CC button on the far right of the control bar... Turn Off the closed captions in that menu. Exit the YouTube app.

That fixed it for me with the same issue in NHL Gamecenter on an Aussie Xbox.

To keep Xbox Game Bar on your desktop while browsing the web or another app, you can follow these steps:

Press Windows logo key + G to open the Game Bar above your game, app, or desktop

Select the Menu Widget icon to open a list of activities to choose from

Scroll to Settings and press the A button

From the Control Bar menu, select "Show open widgets on the desktop when the Control Bar is open"

I finally figured out a fix!!!!

it is to open the Edge client on your xbox, close any open tabs, and then press the Settings button on the home page of Edge. It will open a menu. Scroll this menu with the right stick and it will make the cursor disappear. While the cursor is invisible, press the Xbox button on your controller, press start on Edge client, close the program, and return to your game free of the cursor. Enjoy!!
