Xbox One Controller on Windows 10 Issue

I have used the Xbox One controller on my pc many times before without any problems. Now today, I am getting all sorts of errors. I have multiple games that will not recognize the controller at all. Rocket League recognizes my controller as two separate
controllers and starts a split screen game, and the controls are inverted for the "two players" (Ex: I hold RT, one car drives forward and the other drives backwards). Other games recognize the controller, but the buttons are incorrect, and some work just
    fine.

I have tried switching between two drivers with no luck. When I install a driver through "search automatically for update driver software" it installs the driver "Xbox Controller". With this driver, I get the above errors. I tried another driver through
the option "browse my computer" and "let me pick from a list". This one is called "Microsoft Xbox One Controller" and when I install this and restart, no games recognize the controller.

I have gone into "set up usb game controllers" and the computer does recognize button inputs. I can see the correct signals from the controller when I move a joystick or press a button.

The controllers firmware was recently updated through an Xbox One console, and my pc had a larger update as well. The problem only occurred after these updates.

I have searched online and haven't found any solutions to this problem. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I found my old Xbox 360 wireless receiver and tried that out as well. With both drivers available in the list of xbox 360 drivers, neither of them worked. No game would recognize the 360 controller. Not a big issue if this doesn't get fixed seeing
as how I normally use the Xbox One controller, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Maybe they are somehow related.

    :)

Xbox One Controller on Windows 10 Issue

Hm... this is a weird issue to be having. Can you first verify that there is not another update that can be done? In the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10, you may have to click More to see if there are any other possible updates you can apply.

If not, can you try uninstalling the drivers, rebooting the PC and then reinstalling them?

Let us know how you get on.

I think I have found an answer.

I did try your method and the controller did not need any updates. I also, uninstalled the driver, rebooted, and re-installed. This seems to have fixed the weird Rocket League issue. I still had the problem with the other games not recognizing the controller
    at all.

What I did is went into my device manager and looked into the Human Interface Devices and I found a device named "HID- compliant game controller". I believe the issue occurred from the two conflicting drivers. I disabled the HID driver and kept the Xbox
driver active. This seems to have fixed the issue.

    Thanks for your help Maxen13

Does ANYONE at Xbox care about the useless wireless dongles they are selling?

    Hi,

One possible reason as to why you're encountering issues with connecting the controller while streaming using the Xbox app on Windows 10 is due to an outdated device driver. Other reasons are corrupted profile data and compatibility issues with the controllers

    10 for the steps.
