    XBOX ONE Controller on windows 10 is not recognized


    Hello.

    I have a xbox one controller with the usb cable for my PC.

    Everything worked fine, but after not using it for a few months my PC does not recognize it anymore.

    I have read the first 5 pages of google, after multiple searches, but nothing seems to work.

    The Controller does not show up in the device manager at all, even installing the drivers manually does not work, my PC does not "see" that anything is connected.

    Updating windows, drivers, trying different cables or USB ports, they all work with other devices, but nothing works with the Controller.

    With Batteries the controller works fine (i also took them out and never even used Batteries before to play), and also the cable i got with the controller (back then i bought it for windows use, with the needed USB cable) works fine.

    I dont have any idea what else I could do to make it work.

    Please help, i appreciate every answer I get, and I love you all, just please help me xd.

    You shouldn't need to click the connect button on the controller, just plugging it in via USB should be enough to recognize it by the computer and be able to update through the Accessories app.

    As I mentioned before, the app doesn't recognize the control ... The control doesn't even turn on anymore ... Only windows recognizes as "update controller". I would need a way to reinstall the controller
    firmware ...

    Summary: I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    Longer description: I installed fresh windows 10, downloaded and installed all win updates, then I tried all these steps and at the end controller started working.

    1) plugged wireless adapter into USB windows 10 recognized it but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    2) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    3) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port started task manager removed Xbox one adapter, windows found it again but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    4) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port (front) started task manager removed Xbox one adapter and Xbox drivers, windows found it again installed it but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    5) FINALLY, I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    Xbox Elite Controller 2 will not connect VIA usb or Bluetooth to my pc

    The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.
